Sold by Bure Valley Classics of Buxton with Lamas in January 2019. Seller's description below.

LHD Manual Texas car offered for restoration. A fantastic opportunity to rescue a great example of this iconic car. Originally manufactured on 15th December 1967. This was a personal export car for Major L A White, dispatched on 24th January 1968 as detailed on the heritage certificate and the certificate of authenticity from the Coventry Transport Museum. Also on file is the Coventry registration mark which could be retained when registered. The car was restored some time ago in the US but has been in storage since the 1990's. Unfortunately the car has some rust present on the bottom of the doors and also on the nearside sill and driver's door. Other than this the car is in great shape, the front frame is original and very straight, there is no rust in the boot area, in the main body panels or the bonnet.

The interior was retrimmed some time ago but is still presentable. The car was repainted when the car was restored and the paint is now looking tired in some areas with the lacquer peeling slightly in places. The brightwork is all OK apart from the front bumpers which would certainly require re-chroming. The engine although not the original is a 4.2 from the correct era and is actually running very well, producing good oil pressure. The car does not smoke and sounds great with the stainless exhaust which has been fitted. Offered for complete restoration however in reality it would take very little to have this car driving again. The glass is all good as is the headlining. The wheels are in excellent condition and the tyres are new. An easy restoration with some welding required or go the whole way and repaint the car to see its full potential.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
