Ebay item 10/11/15
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-/181892541839
Current bid US $28,000.00
Reserve not met, 1 bid 2 days left in auction. Complete VIN on this car J681E77945, seller freighters-0162
Sellers description:
Covered headlights, Wire Wheels, Dual Electric Fans (round motors), Classic Chrome AMCO bars, Dual Exhaust, White exterior, black interior, Disc Brakes. Upgrades in the 90's: Electronic fuel pump (SU), up-rated torsion bars, and Koni rear shocks. The original S/N Transmission & torque converter were rebuilt, new front seat bottom & leather, headliner and dash cover, ball joints and boots. 2014-15 upgrades new electronic distributor, SS exhaust down pipes, engine mounts, front brake calipers & new braided SS brake lines, Sway bar polyurethane mounts, cylinder-head and carburetor overhaul. This Jaguar has major components as delivered, known exceptions: Clock has been converted to quartz movement (by XKs...super accurate); radio and the interior mirror are not original. Chrome finishing strips missing from rear hatch window (these are available from XKs). Alternator has been upgraded to an internal voltage regulator model at sometime in the past.
Very good condition 1968 Jaguar XKE Series 1.5, 2+2, A/T, with 4.2 Liter engine. This is a rare and a great opportunity to own a fun daily driver; mostly original, good condition, and partially restored XKE. Offered as a great daily driver or a collectible for any English Classic car enthusiast.
Currently 67,860 miles on odometer; (At the time of purchase in 1989, the actual car mileage, could not be established by seller provided information.)
Owned and garaged since 1989, driven frequently.
Open projects: If you live in a very warm climate and enjoy long drives in the summer, a New Alloy Radiator would give you peace of mind. The original radiator is a little tired after 47 years on hot days.
Interior: New carpet and rubber door trim strips would be desirable.
Generally rust free, left front jacking point and wheel wells would need attention at time of full restoration; Paint average to very good with normal wear: a few scratches & road rock paint chips, with minor blemishes on the hood, roof and bottom of rear wheel wells. Chrome is original with some pitting, a few small dents and some peeling on one door post; still above average in appearance.
Current Engine bay configuration: Original S/N bottom-end 4.2 engines with a Zenith Stromberg tri-carburetor set-up on a later model (XJ-6 Ser 1) cylinder head (all new valves, cam followers, springs, tappet hold-downs, upper timing chain, cylinder head studs and & nuts), three (Joe Curto) overhauled ZS 175CD2 carburetors, new electronic distributor, Stainless Steel exhaust headers. Recent new piston/ rings, rod bearings and ARP rod bolts. ("piston-rings-rod assembly", balanced to within a Gram of the average)
Note 1: Available for separate purchase: (as removed) The original 4.2 cylinder head, dual carburetors, intake manifold and all air induction components, exhaust manifolds and original distributor. (All are considered cores for a "Full Restoration" in the future). This would restore engine bay to Factory original configuration.
Note 2: Available for separate purchase: A partial jaguar 4 speed transmission conversion kit: used all sync 4 speed manual transmission from mid to late 60s XKE, bell housing; new actuators, new clutch bottle with brackets, and a XKE overhauled dual brake/clutch pedal assembly.

Imported into the United Kingdom from California and sold by Toby Smith Of Brackley in March 2016.Listed on eBayUK, the URL is www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JAGUAR-E-TYPE-1968-Series-1-5-FHC-2-2/2015391200239. The description runs:
* This car has been well looked after, and being recently imported from California, is free from rot and rust issues that effect UK cars.
* It has been in one owner possession for the last 25 years.
* It has benefitted from a recent cylinder head rebuild, and has unusually been fitted with triple Strombergs, instead of the more common twin set up originally supplied.
* It has excellent paint, with no dings or dents, no sign of rust anywhere on the car, very good panel gaps, and appears to never had any serious accident damage, wheel arches are crisp and free from corrosion.
* The floors are solid and rot free.
* The engine has the correct oil pressure, sounds right and correct and has been nicely detailed.
* The interior has a lovely patina, and is unrestored with the original leather trim free from tears and damage.
* It drives very well with no nasty knocking, pulls well and stops as it should.
* Everything functions as it should, a car to jump in and enjoy.
* A great car for immediate use, it has a fresh MOT and is ready to UK register.
