Imported into the United Kingdom from the United States in 1990, it underwent a major nut and bolt restoration between then and 1997. It was rebuilt using desirable series 1 features such as triple SU carburettors, polished rocker covers and eared spinners. A tubular six branch exhaust manifold, adjustable Spax rear shock absorbers, new tyres and a tracker were fitted and the car converted to right hand drive.

It was registered NOP282F in the UK on 22 June 1997, there were two owners in the UK, the first from 1997 to 2011 and the second from 2011 to 2014. The engine was rebuilt in 2012 at a cost of £5,400 and a new alternator and starter motor fitted. Exported to the Republic of Ireland in 2014 and registered on historic car Irish plates, it was sold by Classic and Vintage Cars of Dublin in June 2015.

Chassis No 1E78002BW

The vendor states that the Heritage Certificate confirms matching numbers and original colours of British Racing Green with Tan interior. Also states that car was manufactured on the 31st January 1968 and supplied to Jaguar Cars New York.Car was repatriated back to the UK in 1990 and treated to a major nut and bolt bare metal, rotisserie restoration between then and 1998 along with conversion to RHD. Pictures in the history file show the extent of this restoration.

It has been rebuilt using desirable S1 features such as the triple SUs, polished rocker covers, headlamp covers and eared spinners. Great attention has been paid to detail with even the wiper sweep being converted to RHD. Interior retains the later type rocker switch panel and comfortable, adjustable later type seats. Wipers and steering wheel are of the polished chrome variety as fitted to a S1. A tubular 6 branch exhaust manifold, stainless steel exhaust, electronic ignition and adjustable Spax rear shock absorbers are also fitted. Tyres are Avon. A Tracker is fitted (up to new owner to test its operation and register in their name)

The car was registered in the UK NOP282F. The history file contains 12 old MOTs that show the progression of the mileage from 30 in 1998, when presumably either a new speedo was fitted or the original zeroed, up to 2680 in 2013. Current mileage reads 5700 There have been 2 owners in the UK - the 1st from 1997 to 2011 and the second from then to the time the car was exported to Ireland in July 2014.

Condition 1 throughout. Further expenditure since restoration includes engine rebuild in 2012 at 856 miles costing £5,400. More recently a new alternator and hi torque starter motor have been fitted along with other electrical work having been also carried out.

A new owner can enjoy this car in turn key condition resplendent in its smart British Racing Green paint and with that lovely new Tan interior. Comes with owners handbook, 2 sets keys and wheel changing kit.

The car is currently registered in Southern Ireland. No VAT or duties are due on importation. The vendor will provide NOVA certification and assist with re-registration in th UK.
