Ebay item 11/18/03
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $10k (Reserve not met), 1 bid, 6 days left in auction.

Sellers comment:
Two owner, 102k mile California car, no rust ever
Automatic Transmission with Factory Air-conditioning.
This car belonged to the owner of a well known Jaguar repair shop in Sacramento, Ca. and is well sorted out.
It has be completely reconditioned to almost new and would be rated as a #2 car.
2000 miles since work was completed.
Things that were done:
Rebuilt motor, with new timing chains, pistons, bearings, valves, and seals.
Rebuilt front and rear suspension.
Rebuilt Brake system.
Rebuilt cooling system.
New chrome factory wire wheels and new tires.
New Interior (complete front and rear), over $4000 in Connolly leather, wool carpets and headliner.
Body completely stripped and repainted with Glasurit paint
Restored steering wheel (steering wheel cover shown is there for protection only)
The chrome is in excellent original condition.
This car looks and drives like it drove off the showroom floor last year.
The car does have a few issues:
The windshield has a light wiper blade scratch on the drivers side.
The high speed fan position on the Air-conditioning does not work, med, low are OK.
The plastic piece (PRNDL) on the transmission console selector needs replacing.
There is a very small outward ding (no paint damage) on the right rear quarter panel near the rear hatch cover, this happened when the interior was being installed from a screw (you have to look for it).
There is a small scratch (3” long) on the lower rocker panel on the drivers side (easily fixed)
There is some very very light pin pitting on the upper section of the chrome window trim around the rear hatch glass. (two pieces around rear hatch glass, top section needs re-chrome?)
The clock does not work.
Needs seat belts.
This car would make a great weekend driver and show event classic.
The car has current California Registration with a Clear Title.

Lofty, I have car 1E78965BW. I had it shipped back to UK in 2000. Just seen yrs, nice job. Is the cooling fan cowl black or silver? and did you replace the air con control knob or rebuild the original. Mine only works at 45 degrees to the normal. Look forward to hearing from you. Regards and enjoy the drive. Dave Harrison

Car returns to ebay 5/3/19

www.ebay.com/itm/1968-Jaguar-E-Type-1968-JAGUAR-E-TYPE-2-2-SERIES-1-5/3726635692 ...

Car has a buy it now price of $45,000 for 29 days, seller kurttannermotorcars, 107k miles, car now in Santa Ana, California.

Seller's description:

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very nicely restored E-type 2+2. This car was just purchased from it's long term owner/family who had the car lovingly restored at that time for the father in the household. This car is a lovely turn-key driver needing nothing and is ready to be enjoyed.

The body and paintwork on this car is in all around very nice condition. The car appears to have been originally Maroon and had a color change to it's attractive Silver Blue. Brightwork and glass is all around very good to excellent, with mostly nice rubber. The chrome wheels, fitted with quality radial tires, are beautiful.

The car's interior is wonderful in it's handsome navy blue. It's been fully restored utilizing a quality Jaguar major retrimming kit with all of the correct materials. The front and rear seats are trimmed in leather, the carpet is the correct Wilton wool, the panel kit is the correct grain. The wool headliner is nice but could use a simple re-gluing. The car's doors and hatch lid open and close well. The steering wheel is correct.

Mechanically, the car is super. The engine starts easily on the key with no smoke or noises. It purrs and idles smoothly once warmed up. The gearbox operates and shifts correctly along with good suspension, brakes, steering, etc. The car's underside looks entirely solid and rustfree.

Overall, this attractive and very usable E-type is in great all around condition. With the rising costs of restoring a car to this level, surely this one is extremely good value and a smart investment, and is just in time to be enjoyed for the season.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
