Chris purchased the car in the fall of 2000 and began the restoration shortly thereafter. He has put approximately 20k miles on it since completion. He enjoyed doing the restoration and truly loves the car, especially on golf days. It is being sold to cover the cost of sending his daughter to vet school.
This is really a nice piece. The body is very good, the interior is excellent and above all, it is awesome to drive. The following description was a write-up we sent to a dealer in Charlotte.

I purchased this vehicle in the fall of 2000. It had approximately 76k miles at the time. It was purchased as a restoration project and to be a fun second car. The car was in pretty original condition when I bought it, with the exception of the engine, which had already been done. With some minor service I had it roadworthy not long after taking delivery. I put approximately 3k miles on the car before beginning the restoration in the spring of 2001. I have put a total of just over 20k miles on the car since I have owned it. The following is an overview of the restoration work I have done. I have a folder containing all of the parts receipts. It is important to note that the color has been changed from white to Silver Blue, but this is otherwise a correct, numbers matching car.
Nearly every piece of this car has been disassembled and reassembled by me personally. Each component was reconditioned or replaced depending on what would make the best finished product. Original fasteners were used if they were in excellent condition. Any rusted or damaged pieces were replaced with new. Every piece of rubber is new. The steering wheel and dash are original, but looked better than the replacements available at the time.
Engine:
Upon delivery, I performed a thorough inspection of the engine and verified that it had been completely overhauled as indicated by the seller. This included new pistons, bearings, timing chains, tensioner, oil pump, and cylinder head. This was a good starting point. From here, I finished the engine by updating the front engine seals, and replacing the engine and transmission mounts. For carburetion, I went with an earlier setup – reconditioned triple SU’s with a new intake. The vacuum advance distributor was rebuilt and matches the carburetors. For the exhaust, I went with a stainless steel header and system with a lifetime guarantee from Falcon. The horsepower is now estimated to be about 275.
Cooling system:
The radiator has been refurbished. New radiator fans were added with an upgraded rheostat control and indicator light. The water pump and all of the hoses and pipes were replaced. The heater core, heater box and motor are all new.
Fuel system:
The fuel tank was cleaned, sealed and painted. The fuel pump and lines were then replaced.
Drive train:
Both the transmission and differential were in good working order and did not need rebuilding. I resealed both units and filled them with synthetic fluids. I replaced the U joints with heavy-duty units. The clutch assembly, master cylinder and slave cylinder have all been replaced.
Suspension/steering:
All of the bushings in the front and rear suspension got replaced. All six shocks have been replaced. The rear springs have been replaced in addition to an upgrade of the rear trailing arms. All ball joints and tie rods are new. The steering rack was rebuilt by me, including new bushings, seals and mounts.
Brakes:
The rotors and pads have been replaced at all 4 wheels. All 4 calipers were overhauled at this time. The brake fluid hoses were replaced as well. The master cylinder was reconditioned.
Wheels:
This car still has its original wire wheels. They have been tuned by Hendrix Wire Wheel. The tires were replaced as part of making the car roadworthy back in 2000. The tires are showing some were. The wheels are safe, but are not smooth on the highway. Ideally, both the wheels and tires should be replaced. New stainless steel wheels look like chrome, but are much stronger wheels. With mounting and balancing, new wheels and tires would run about $1,600.
Electrical:
The original wiring harness was in very good condition. It was thoroughly checked. I made a few upgrades such as 100w headlights with a relay. All of the gauges including the clock have been reconditioned. The temperature sender and oil pressure sender are new. This car did not have a radio when I got it. I never felt the need to put one in.
Body restoration:
All disassembly and reassembly was done by me. The whole body came apart for paint since I was changing the color to blue. The paint and bodywork is excellent and has held up very well. All of the chrome, including hardware was rechromed by A.C. plating in Bakersfield, CA. The windshield has been replaced. The convertible top frame was reconditioned and has new hardware and chrome. The top itself is also new. Inside, the interior was replaced as a kit from BAS LTD in the UK. It included Connolly leather seat covers, Wilton wool carpets, new vinyl door panels; new dash pad, console and all other interior trim pieces. The convertible top is also from BAS and is Dark Blue Sun Fast canvas. The top and interior pieces were approximately $4,000. The sample card I received from BAS showing these materials is in the receipt folder. I also have photographic documentation of the restoration.

The car has undergone an engine rebuilt with several upgrades including a triple SU carburetor conversion kit, Stainless Steel Headers, Full Stainless Steel Exhaust system and Koni Shocks. It is mechanically sound with excellent compression: 1-145psi, 2-140psi, 3-140psi, 4-140psi, 5-150psi, 6-150psi. This car would be very expensive to replicate in a restoration. This car is excellent to drive and is sure to please! This is a great investment quality car that can be driven and enjoyed as well!

This is a 1969 e-type Series II Roadster. It was given a complete Rotisserie Restoration by a Jaguar mechanic with over 30 years of experience in California and then North Carolina that was completed about 2002. This was originally a white car. It has been repainted in Light Blue. It appears to be a Opalescent Silver Blue, which is a Series I authentic Jaguar Color. It is paired with a light Gray Leather Interior by BAS with a Dark Blue Sunfast Top. BAS is considered one of the foremost provider of restoration interiors and tops for Jaguars. The car is fabulous.
Therer is absolutely no evidence that this car ever suffered any collision damage, it runs like a top. The wire wheels run good for what I believe are the originals which have been trued up. Maybe new ones would ride a tad better at high speeds (over 75-80). It shifts like a new car and I have been unable to locate any electrical issues which we haven't already addressed. The prior owner kept the car in a climate controlled garage. He purchased the car from a highly reputable dealer in collectable cars.
