Current bid $19,100 reserve not met, 5 bids 6 days left in auction. Buy it now price $56,500. Car still in Ft. Meyers, Florida.

Sellers description:
This fine automobile is a great driver, great for show, and the perfect car for everyday use. Signal Red paint and Black leather interior, it is a wonderful example of the early Series Two E-Type.

Let me give you the background that I know of this E-Type. The car was purchased by the current owner in Gulfport, Mississippi in 2006, after living it's life (as far as is known) in the south. You can tell from the original condition of the body that this is a southern car, and shows virtually NO rust or paint bubbles. It is a three-owner car. The car was restored in 1993 at about 53,000 miles. The engine was rebuilt in 1996 and purrs like a kitten. This car is a matching numbers car. The bright red (Signal Red as far as I know) is spectacular with only very few blemishes of any type. The car has been completely undercoated. The car was listed for sale on EBay in 2006, when the current owner purchased the car directly from the seller, which canceled the auction. The interior was redone by the current owner since 2006, including new carpets, soft and supple new leather seats and headrests, and new console leather.

Essentially this car has been restored from head to toe, but to my knowledge has not been shown, only driven and enjoyed. From my JCNA Concours experience, I could see this car topping any driven class out there, and a contender for first or second in any Champion class. This car is all original, all matching numbers, and all here - in beautiful condition!

The car shows 82,201 miles on the odometer. The speedometer is currently not working (the only thing I can find on this car that does not work!) so I am not sure of the accurate mileage. I know that the current owner has driven the car very little since the purchase in 2006. The body metal is excellent, save for a small ding on the top of the driver's side bonnet. The gaps are all good, the doors close smartly and the car is very solid. The paint is excellent with a deep shine. There are several minor scratches, some chips in the boot gutter and passenger door jamb, and a few minor blemishes in the paint that do not detract at all from the appearance.

The chrome is excellent overall. The bumpers are very good except for a small bubble on the passenger side front blade, a small chip on the passenger rear bumper, and some scratches on the drivers side rear bumper. One of the rear chrome overriders is dented on the face. The windshield base chrome strip has a worn finish, as does the drivers mirror and door top chrome, and the chrome strip at the top of the windscreen, which is also somewhat dented. This strip should be replaced. The chrome strips at the door opening thresholds are missing, as is the escutcheon at the base of the center windshield wiper. The radio is operational, but the antenna is broken off.

The car comes with a beautiful new black canvas top, and a lovely, heavy duty black vinyl tonneau cover, to boot! The convertible top boot cover is black vinyl. It has no tears or holes, but it does have a few rivets that have pulled through the vinyl.

Now for the operation. This car starts immediately every time I have started it and driven it. It starts much easier than my '66 FHC! The engine runs smooooooth! It revs freely and is very responsive. The front brakes were just re-done in preparation for sale and are excellent. The carbs have been re-built, and the car has Kone front shocks. All of the gauges are operational (save the speedo), the oil pressure is excellent and the temperature stays nicely in the normal range. Charging is normal. All of the switches and components are working properly. A second fuel filter has been added in the boot as the car has been sitting for some time, and there was residue in the fuel tank. The tank has been flushed and may need it again. The second filter will keep any residue from getting to the carbs.

In my opinion, this is the perfect car for someone who wants to own a restored classic that is fully prepared to drive or show. It is not an over-the-top show car or trailer queen, but a very friendly and responsive driver, that can be proudly driven or shown at your local shows or Jaguar Concours. For the new owner that is not interested in restoring - but enjoying!

I have tried to thoroughly document the condition of this car with the attached photographs. Let me tell you what I know is not right with this car:

1. The body has only one small ding as described above.
2. The chrome has a few blemishes as described above. The bezel of the driver's side headlamp also has some scratches on it. The chrome trim at the top of the windscreen is serviceable, but I would replace for aestehetics. The chrome bonnet beads on both sides are serviceable but scuffed and dented, and again, if it were me, I would replace for proper aesthetics. The chrome strips at the door thresholds are missing.
3. The boot cover is not 100%, as described above.
4. The paint has a few scratches and blemishes as described above and shown in the photographs.
5. The antenna mast is broken off.
6. The speedometer is inoperable. The clock is not working.
7. The fuel tank may have more residue inside.
8. There are a few cracks on the underside of the dash cover.

And what does this car have going for it?
1. The car is "All There" with a beautiful restoration.
2. It is a numbers-matching car.
3. The body metal is all excellent. The paint is exceptional!
4. This is a rust-free southern car. The floors are solid.
5. The original chrome is excellent except for the items listed above.
6. This car is ready to enjoy, drive or show.
7. The car has like new Coker Classic Redline radial tires that look superb with the red paint!
8. The correct wire wheels are absolutely excellent.
9. The car is the most desirable of the E-Types; the Open Two Seater Roadster.
10. The car is the most popular of all the color combinations - Signal Red with Black Interior.
11. The interior is new and fresh and properly done. The seat leather is soft and supple.
12. The car has three point shoulder harness seat belts and headrests, providing much more driving safety than the early cars.
13. The car has a new 15" correct style wood steering wheel.
14. The car runs beautifully and everything works!
15. The new black canvas top is superb! The tonneau (very rare) is a great feature!
16. The car is equipped with Lumenition electronic ignition.
17. The car is completely undercoated.
18. There are new rubbers throughout except the windscreen and side windows.
19. Most importantly, you can purchase this car and drive it every day, AS-IS. You will be proud to drive it and show it!

This is truly a great Series II E-Type for that special person who will lovingly care for this classic. The owner is reluctantly selling this beauty - it is time for another Jaguar lover to enjoy this fine automobile.

Sellers description:
Offered for sale is this stunning 1969 Jaguar E-Type OTS 4.2. The car is a matching numbers classic! At least two owners - I sold this car once before; back in 2006 to the current owner. The car was a very nice driver then, and the current owner has brought this car up to a much higher level. The car is showing 52,000 miles or so on the Odometer and I cannot attest to the mileage. The body and paint is near perfect and the mechanicals are excellent. The interior has been completely replaced with correct leathers and trim.

The steering wheel is the correct wood and is in excellent condition. The owner even sourced an original correct and working Blaupunkt AM-FM radio for the car! There are a few knobs that could use refresh, but all of the heavy lifting is done on this fine classic.

Mechanically she is sound, with excellent oil pressure and heavy duty fan that keeps her running cool. She runs out smartly, and revs smooth. Electrically the car is very good - I had an issue with the brake lights, but with a new fuse and a loose wire repair, all is operational. The horn (these are always problematic) and the clock are not working. The new correct wire wheels are stunning and the (non-correct) redline tires look superb with this roadster!

The undercarriage is sound and rust free, undercoated and the floors are solid. Only one blemish in the right rear bumper keeps the chrome from being 100%. The boot has new liner and the car comes with a jack and hub remover, correct hood boot cover and full tonneau in excellent condition (not pictured). The hood is also new and without blemishes and is the correct SunFast Black Cloth with fixed rear window. The hood mechanism operates smoothly and latches properly.

These cars are appreciating at an surprising rate! I know you will appreciate this fine classic!

Open Roads, June

1969 Jaguar E-Type Series 2 4.2-Litre Roadster

$100,000 - $125,000 USD, sold at $105,600 USD

Stuart, Florida

23 - 30 June 2021

Chassis No. 1R 10026

Documents US Title

According to its Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate on file, this E-Type was built on 14 July 1969. A left-hand drive example destined for North America, this desirable Series 2 example left the factory finished in Cream with a black interior and convertible top. It was dispatched on 11 August 1969 and distributed through British Leyland in New York.

Today this Jaguar is finished in the popular combination of red over black with a black convertible top. The visual appeal of the open two-seater is boosted by a black tonneau cover, ensuring the clean lines of the E-Type remain while concealing the convertible top. The E-Type rides on chrome knock-off wire wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich thin red line tires. Chrome trim tastefully complements the brilliant red paintwork. The interior is trimmed in black leather, it features a wood-rimmed steering wheel and a Blaupunkt radio. The rear boot houses a tool roll and spare wire wheel, the original wheels are offered as spares as part of the sale. The car retains its original engine, matching factory records shown on the accompanying Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate.

Invoices on file show significant restoration services completed by Michaelian Restoration Inc. of Stuart, Florida between 2018 to 2021, totaling in excess of $125,000. The list of work included a total restoration of the car’s body, engine and running gear, leaving the E-Type Series 2 in the very well presented condition it is seen in today.
