Ebay item 3/29/05
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Opening bid $30,000, no reserve, no bids yet, 9 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
This is a fine example of a 1970 British Racing Green XKE Roadster. I have owned this car since 1984. It has 86,400 original miles and the engine runs extremely strong and has excellent oil pressure. It has always been serviced and maintained by me and garaged. I have recently had it repainted as the original 35-year-old paint job had finally come to an end. Cosmetically, this car is very presentable having had a very high quality paint job with lots of luster and shine. All body panels fit well. The doors shut properly, the bonnet fits perfectly and shuts with ease, and the floors are solid. The undertrunk is excellent and rust free. It has nice chrome, trim and tires. This has never been hit or been in an accident of any kind, and tracks well down the road. I've also replaced the convertible top with a Robbins top, one of the finest. The interior is excellent. Door panels, sill covers, center console and arm rest/cubby box are all in wonderful condition. I've also had the seats reskinned with the best from a California custom leather maker. This automobile is one of the finer original XKEs with all numbers matching. It even has the original radio. Mechanically, this car starts right up, runs smooth, drives nice and handles great. The "knockoff" wrench, jack, hammer and spare with the original leather case are included as are the original owners manual and lubrication chart. Car enthusiasts and exotic car dealers know that XKEs are one of the prettiest and appreciating classic cars in any showroom or on the road today. My wife and I have enjoyed this car, but now we have an addition to the family. Since this is a two seater, it is no longer practical. Please understand this is not a fully restored or Concours car. There are imperfections. This car does, however, have a tightness and feel that even the best full restorations cannot duplicate.
