This 1970 Jaguar XKE is a Series II open two-seater finished in Primrose Yellow over a Biscuit leather interior and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The car was reportedly purchased new by its late owner and refurbished by Collector Car Garage in Rancho Cordova, California, in 2007 with an engine rebuild, a repaint, and an interior refresh. Equipment includes a tan convertible top, a tan top boot, air conditioning, a Pioneer stereo, four-wheel disc brakes, and 15″ knock-off wire wheels. This Series II XKE is now offered on behalf of the late owner’s wife with a factory handbook, a black hardtop, refurbishment photos and invoices, and a clean California title.

The body was repainted in Primrose Yellow as part of the 2007 refurbishment. Series II styling cues included uncovered headlights, fender-mounted reflectors, and taillights mounted below the wraparound rear bumper. The tan soft top stows beneath a tan boot. A black hardtop is included in the sale.

Chrome 15″ knock-off wire wheels are wrapped in 205/75 Hankook Radial Max whitewall tires. The suspension was overhauled as part of the refurbishment and included a rebuild of the steering rack, the installation of GAZ shocks, and the replacement of the bushings, wheel bearings, front stub axles, and independent rear suspension mounts. The power-assisted disc brakes were also refurbished with front and rear caliper kits.

The interior is trimmed in replacement Biscuit leather with matching carpets and door panels as well as a black dash. Equipment includes air conditioning, a wooden shift knob, and manual crank windows. A Pioneer head unit is installed and is paired with aftermarket center console speakers as well as a speaker box fitted behind the seats. Tears are visible in the rear side panel leather from contact with the convertible top frame, which shows flaking paint.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, a centrally mounted analog clock, and auxiliary gauges indicating battery voltage, oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 26k miles. Total mileage is unknown.

The 4.2-liter DOHC inline-six features twin Stromberg carburetors and was factory rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. The engine was reportedly rebuilt as part of the refurbishment and includes a spin-on oil filter conversion along with a replacement fuel pump, crank pulley, and wiring harnesses.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission and a rebuilt Salisbury differential. A stainless steel dual exhaust system is installed, and service records show that the clutch master cylinder was replaced.

As part of the refurbishment, the car was disassembled, rust repair was performed, and patch panels were welded in the trunk. Photos of the car during various phases of the work are included records detail additional body and mechanical work.
