1971 Jaguar XKE Convertible
What can I say, a timeless classic, class at its finest. Senior owned and carefully looked after. Here is a fine example of a well cared for cat fun to drive convertible XKE. The car is a 6 cylinder, 4.2 liter, 4 speed car, it has four wire wheels with real knock offs and all round disk brakes. Recent tune up and I have just had the rear end completely and I mean completely rebuilt with new everything. As you can see from the pictures the car has a new stainless steel Exhorts system, new brakes front and rear, body rust free dark royal blue with black leather interior. Car comes with a stereo rear speakers and if I might say, I real feeling of elegance and class. Paint is in good shape, not concourse quality but very respectful. Please if you have any questions ask anytime, no trades. One side note, the convertible top is old and cracked, I have bought a new one but have not had it installed as of yet. THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION.

This 1970 Jaguar XKE roadster is a Series II example that was built in December 1969 and dispatched to New York the following January. The car was imported to Canada under previous ownership, and was purchased by the seller from an estate in Toronto, Ontario in July 2009. The body is finished in dark blue over a black leather interior, and power comes from a twin-cam 4.2L inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes chrome wire wheels, a black soft top, a PerTronix Flamethrower ignition setup, a gear-reduction starter, and a stainless steel exhaust system. An oil change was performed in 2018 along with installation of new wool carpeting, door panels, and other interior trim. This XKE is offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, service records from current ownership, a tool kit and spare tire, and clean British Columbia registration in the seller’s name.
A dent in the nose of this example was repaired under the seller’s ownership in 2011, and the car was repainted in dark blue by Red Dragon Collision of Creston, British Columbia in 2016. The black soft top was installed in 2009.
Chrome 15″ knock-off wire wheels wear Cooper Classic Lifeliner tires with 2002 date codes, and a missing spoke is noted on the left rear. A matching spare tire and tool kit are included in the sale. The inboard rear disc brakes were reportedly rebuilt by British Auto Specialists of Calgary, Alberta in July 2013, while a new handbrake assembly was installed in August 2015.
Originally trimmed in light blue, the interior was reupholstered in black under previous ownership. The seller installed new Wilton wool carpeting and door panels in 2018 along with a replacement leather shift boot. An older Sony cassette stereo is fitted in the dash, and the horn relay is said to be inoperable. The five-digit odometer reads 8,400 miles, 8k of which have been added by the seller over 10 years of ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter XK inline-six is equipped with dual Stromberg carburetors and was factory-rated at 246 horsepower in US-market specification. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. An August 2013 service by British Auto Specialists reportedly included installation of a gear-reduction starter, a PerTronix Flamethrower ignition coil and distributor, new spark plugs and wires, and a transmission kit. A stainless steel exhaust system has also been added. An oil change was performed in 2018.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust confirms the original colors and lists the factory chassis, body, engine, and transmission numbers.
