Sold by Paris Motors Legend in August 2020. Amended seller's description below.
www.parismotorslegend.com/1970jaguaretypee
We are pleased to offer this E Type 4.2 Series 2 from 1970. Of American origin, it was imported into Europe by an Englishman from Leeds, the last owner bringing it to France. Eager for the car to be as perfect as possible, it was repainted and works including a mechanical overhaul were carried out in 1977. After a thorough examination and travelling about 15 kilometres through the streets of Paris, with its traffic jams and cobbled streets, we can attest that it is in a remarkable state.
With no signs of an accident, the oval front vent is perfect and panel gaps are alligned and perfect. Painted in its original Pale Primrose the yellow hue shows no defects at all. All the chrome was redone at the same time as the paint and body repairs. Its custom made mohair roof and top cover are new and have never been used. Inside the seats are original and in beautiful condition, with no snags or defects. The door cards and carpets are new, and whilst the dashboard top is good, given the general condition of the car we will replace it before delivery to the new owner.
Mechanically it is excellent with the engine singing sweetly. It has been upgraded with triple SU carburettors replacing the original twin Strombergs, a stainless steel radiator, new electronic ignition and coil and an alternator. This is a great opportunity for someone desiring an E Type, in good condition theroughout it is sold with a file of invoices.
