This 1970 Jaguar XKE is a Series II roadster that was brought to the Netherlands from Arizona in the early 1990s and reportedly spent several years in storage before being returned to the road in 2015. Power is from a 4.2-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission, and the car has been repainted dark green over black leather upholstery. Features include a black soft top, a chrome rear luggage rack, a louvered hood, four-wheel disc brakes, a push-button AM radio, and chrome knock-off wire wheels. This XKE is being offered by the selling dealer with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate and Dutch registration.
Finished from the factory in Silver, the car was reportedly repainted its current shade of dark green in the 1980s. Exterior equipment includes a black soft top, a louvered hood, trunk-mounted chrome luggage rack, exposed headlights, and chrome bumpers. Various paint scratches and imperfections are noted by the seller, along with scratches on the rear bumper. The taillight lenses were replaced in 2018, while pieces of weatherstripping are said to have been renewed in 2022. Damage on the windshield is noted by the seller.
Chrome 15” wire wheels are secured by knock-off spinners and mounted with Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. Braking is through four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rears.
The cabin houses bucket seats trimmed in black leather with a matching dashboard top and door panels. Black carpets line the floors, and amenities include a central armrest, an analog clock, and a push-button AM radio. A crack in the dashboard and wear on the upholstery are present, and the seller notes a tear in the passenger seat headrest.
A wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and a suite of auxiliary displays. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 45k miles, though total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter inline-six is equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and sends power to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. The seller notes that the fuel pump, filter, and hoses were replaced in 2022. Compression test results are viewable in the gallery.
