This 1970 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster was purchased by the owner in 1987, and refurbishment work completed in 2016 included a repaint in red as well as a rebuild of the 4.2-liter inline-six. The interior was re-trimmed in beige leather, and a black convertible top and soft top boot were installed. Additional equipment includes a four-speed manual transmission, a limited-slip differential, dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, four-wheel disc brakes, and an aftermarket digital stereo. This XKE series II roadster is now offered on dealer consignment with service records dating to the 1980s, manufacturer’s literature, a jack and hub tool, and a clean Oregon title.
The car was refinished in Signal Red during the refurbishment completed in 2016, and exterior equipment includes a replacement black soft top, sealed-beam open headlights, a driver-side mirror, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, a louvered clamshell hood, and dual exhaust outlets.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by three-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 205/65 Yokohama Avid Envigor tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The cabin features bucket seats reupholstered in beige leather along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. Interior appointments include an aftermarket digital stereo, a locking glovebox, and a heater.
The steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline, while an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level are mounted centrally in the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 49k miles.
The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. The engine was rebuilt and resealed during the refurbishment completed in 2016.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
