Auctioned by Barons in 2007:
Details
From it's launch in 1961 to it's demise in 1975, the E-Type maintained the mantle of the most beautiful sports car in the world. Throughout its 46 year history the Roadster took the prize for the best looking and most desirable E-Type.
This E-Type S2 Roadster has been the subject of a true "Nut & Bolt" restoration, is offered in concours condition and is complete with a JDHT Heriatge certificate.
Having suffered an arson attack during the 1990's, while with its 2nd owner, the car was acquired by the third owner and was subjected to a bare shell rebuild, of which there is a photographic record and which included all new parts. The current owner once again took the car apart, right down to its component parts and carried a detailed, nut & bolt rebuild, which is also recorded photographically. This rebuild included a stripped and rebuilt engine. The car was equipped with all new interior, new hood, new brakes, suspension, new chrome wire wheels, stainless steel manifolds and exhaust. When completed the speedometer was set to zero miles and it now shows 1855.
