List admin for e-type@jag-lovers.org This OTS is my second e-type. The first was a '64 OTS that I bought in 1968 for my first car when I was a month shy of 22!

Current owner. Car was bought in 1989 as a basket case from a failed restoration project. Previous owner had bought car in 1989 and paid $87,300 for it! This was at the height of the e-type price insanity.

Note: Car was bought in November 1995 as a basket case. The previous owner had sold it to a shop in 1989 after a minor accident. Apparently they only had the car from July 13, 1988 until the accident in 1989. Lien on 1989 title was for $87,300 from the United Bank of Arizona in Tucson AZ. It was paid off on Mar 06, 1991.

The shop had intended to restore car and make a profit on it but the bottom dropped out of the market before they finished another '71 Primrose Yellow OTS for which they were asking $55,000 in 1995 when I bought this car.

Someone asked me about the steering wheel. No, it's not the original 16 inch Jaguar wheel although I do have it. I didn't like the feel so I replaced it with the Moto-Lita 15 inch version that is very similar to the original style. It's quite a bit stiffer and you don't feel like you are driving a tractor with a huge wheel.

I also wrapped it with one of those foam wraps to protect the wood and give it a beefier feel. The car gets driven fairly often in the summer and the Arizona heat takes it's toll on anything wood. I have only had the top (hood) up on it a half dozen times.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
