8/11/04 Car offered at auction at:
www.barons-auctions.com

Sellers description:
Jaguar E-Type SII 4.2 FHC
For Sale by Auction Tues September 14th 2004
Sandown Park Exhibition Complex, Esher, Surrey

This very late Series Two E-Type fixed head coupe is in excellent order having recently benefited from a cosmetic restoration, including a full repaint, detailed interior work, full "Bell" stainless steel exhaust and full service. The cost of these works exceeded £8,500.

In addition to the very recent works detailed above, the car has been fitted with new front discs, new splined hubs, new spinners, new tyres, new brakes and various pieces of brightwork, including badge bar, gutter rail embellishers, front and rear screen surrounds and refurbished wire wheels. The vendor states that there are many other refurbished or replacement parts and that the works involved over 75 man hours.

The car is said to be a matching numbers example, which is complete with a good history file, low owner numbers and is in excellent condition, ready for it's new owner to drive or show.

Note: This description is provided by the vendor and unless otherwise stated is 'Not Verified' by Barons or any person employed by Barons. Prospective purchasers are advised to satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of any statements made, whether they be statements of fact or opinion.

Auction description:
Lot : 63
1970 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Coupe
Estimate: SOLD for £19250
Registration No: EWY 48H
Chassis No: 1R20814
Engine No: 7R11672-9
CC: 4200
Colour: Red
Trim Colour: Black
MOT: Feb 2011

Finished in red with black leather upholstery, this particular example is described by the vendor as being in "good" condition with regard to its engine, four-speed manual gearbox, electrical equipment, interior trim, bodywork and paintwork. Reportedly "purchased five years ago as a matching numbers car" which was "sound but in need of cosmetic attention", the Jaguar is further understood to have benefited from "a programme of improvements costing thousands of pounds". The work was carried out by Bristol Classics at the present owner's request and has apparently resulted in "a very smart, usable car". Said to have seen "regular use in recent times" and to only be up for sale due to a change of circumstances, this appealing E-type is accompanied by full details of its recent refurbishment and MOT certificate valid until February 2011.

PLEASE NOTE: The chassis number on this vehicle is 1R20814
