Ebay item 8/8/14
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-coupe-1969-JAGUAR-XKE-STANDARD-COUPE-BARN-FIN ...
Current bid US $17,500, no reserve, 8 bids 9 days left in auction. 57k miles.
Sellers description:
I'm no expert on Jaguars, but I acquired this un-molested- all original 1969 coupe from an elderly man who has had it in storage for almost 25 years.
This is what I call a "Barn -Find".
I will try to accurately describe this car as honestly as I can. I have posted as many pictures as possible to show its overall condition. I have tried to add the "super-size" photo option, but it wont let me....Sorry?
This is a Colorado car, and our dry climate is a real plus. Although this car has been in storage, the owner ran it every year or so
and periodically had things done to it. (New Brakes, new tires, carbs re-done, etc.).
I have some of the receipts, for the work done. Its been a year or so since it last ran....I have been told that the factory air conditioning is a plus as well.
This car would make a great daily driver, or better yet a great car to restore?
Just to clarify the car is not currently running. (info. for your shipper).
Someone with more mechanical skills than myself could have this car up and going again in very short order. This car could use lots of cleaning and detailing.
If I do not sell it "as is", I will have it all serviced and get it running, and re-list it accordingly.
This car is over 45 years old and I am selling it as-is. The car is somewhat dirty from sitting, but just as I recieved it. The vinal top that someone added years ago is old and peeling. (the photo of the rear door area shows old glue for the top...not rust).
It's sure not perfect, but I would rather you plan for the worst and hope for the best than be disappointed in anyway.
I have a clear and open Colorado title for it. My opening bid is $16,500 with no reserve.
Now all this having been said .... This car is almost 100% complete and original, and very un-molested. (a numbers correct/matching car)
I honestly can't imagine finding a lower millage, or a more un-molested, or a more rust- free, 1969 "air coupe" like this for he price. I think that whoever ends up owning this will be elated... Just my thoughts.
