Heirloom car has not been registered or street-driven since about 1990, but has been garaged and cared-for. New tires, hoses, electrical, gas tank, fuel lines, rebuilt carburators, all performed by the prior owner William Alberti. Alberti inherited the car from his mother, who inherited it in 1990 on the death of its then-owner, John Hasslink of Huntington Beach, CA. Mr. Hasslink was reported to be the second owner of the car, and has not been driven since he was living.

Car on BAT 8/18
bringatrailer.com/listing/1969-jaguar-xke-coupe-6/
Current Bid: $10,000 Ends In: 6 days
Seller's description:
This 1969 Jaguar E-type is a silver over blue coupe that is believed by the seller to have been stored in California from circa 1988 until his purchase in 2016. Power comes from a 4.2-liter inline-six mated to a 4-speed manual transmission, and refurbishment work since the seller's acquisition included rebuilt carburetors, a new exhaust system, new engine compartment and alternator wiring harnesses, and a new CoolCat aluminum radiator. The car comes with service records documenting work done over the last two years, a partial factory tool kit, some of the original parts that have been replaced by the seller, a Jaguar Heritage Certificate, and a clean California title in the seller's name.
The body is finished in its original color of silver as listed on the Heritage Certificate, and the paint can be seen from several angles in the photo gallery below. The seller suspects previous paintwork and notes waviness in the finish on the passenger-side door. Bubbling is pointed out around the bonnet louvers as well as scratches, nicks, and small dents on the nose. Slight color fading is visible on the driver-side door, indicating different paint from other panels.
The car retains chrome wire wheels consistent with factory equipment, with new Hankook whitewall tires mounted. The boot hatch window received new rubber and chrome trim, and the driver's door rubber seal was replaced. The seller describes remaining window and bumper rubber as intact but aging.
The cabin is trimmed in dark blue leather upholstery consistent with the original color listed on the Heritage Certificate. New dark blue carpeting was created for the footwells during current ownership. A RetroSound stereo with Bluetooth capability has been installed in place of a non-working period Sanyo cassette player, which is included in the sale. Two new speakers were also fitted along the drive train tunnel, and the system retains two Realistic monitor speakers attached by velcro to the rear deck, which were added by a previous owner. The car is not equipped with air conditioning.
The speedometer and dash clock were rebuilt in 2016, with a quartz movement added to the latter. The odometer shows just under 1,240 miles and is believed to have rolled over once by the seller, who has added about 2,000 miles during two years of ownership.
The dual-carbureted 4.2-liter XK DOHC inline-six is backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. A new CoolCat aluminum radiator was installed in 2016 in place of the original copper radiator, which is included in the sale. A new stainless steel Bell exhaust was added in March of 2018 along with new porcelain-finished exhaust manifolds and new clutch hydraulic cylinders. Electrical work in the same month included new main engine compartment and alternator wiring harnesses as well as a starter rebuild.
Several receipts for work completed after the seller purchased the car can be seen in the gallery below. A 2016 service consisted of a rebuilt alternator along with a new brake master cylinder, brake servo, coolant hoses, fuel tank sender, battery, door handles, and various electrical adjustments and reconditioning.
The seller states that leakage from rubber seals, which have since been replaced, caused some undercoating paint to flake during storage.
The Jaguar Heritage Certificate confirms original production details and numbers, though a number stamping is not present on the engine. Also included with the sale is a factory tool kit in a newer roll.

Seller's description:
1969 Jaguar Series II 4.2L Fixed Head Coupé, Blue-plate California car, Jaguar Heritage certificate. Current owner is a lifelong Jag enthusiast and member of the Jaguar Owner's Club of Los Angeles (affiliated with Jaguar Club of North America). This is a restored So Cal "barn find" that was previously garaged, unregistered and undriven from about 1988 until 2016. Previous registered owner (whom I am informed was just the second registered owner) died in 1987 shortly after paying off the loan on the car. His widow was not able to care for the car, and when it failed a California emissions inspection in or around 1990, it was mothballed and passed from one family member to the next. Last owner's widow gave it to the owner's sister, who gave it to her son, who attempted to restore it for about 12 years before his wife ordered it out of her garage, when the current owner acquired it.
Mechanicals/Electricals. Thousands invested in mechanicals to bring this beauty back to life and now she runs like a champ. New wiring harnesses for main engine compartment and alternator completed in March 2018, with extensive other electrical work performed (condensers, relays, fuses, starter rebuilt) in 2016. All new OEM belts and hoses, new aluminum radiator by Cool Cats of NJ, new power brake servo, new master/slave clutch cylinders, entirely new exhaust system including shiny new black manifolds and stainless Bell exhaust pipes and mufflers which sound beautiful and gurgle with joy on the downshift. Mechanical speedometer and dash clock were rebuilt by a recognized expert in Smiths gauges; the clock now works beautifully with a quartz movement for improved accuracy and reliability. Original 4-speed manual gearbox (Gearbox No. 1KE1979) paired with the original 4.2L inline six-cylinder engine. Original Engine No. of 7R4828-9, but this engine is unstamped, possibly indicating that the original engine was swapped out by a dealership under warranty early in its life and the original engine number was not re-stamped onto the new engine block. No air conditioning for the perfect analog driving experience free of complications. Upgraded RetroSound stereo head unit with full Bluetooth connectivity and new speakers for period-correct appearance but modern soundtrack for your weekend canyon drives. Original copper radiator and Sanyo stereo cassette head unit (non-operating) have been retained in case the new owner wishes to restore them. All records for the last two-year restoration have been maintained and go with the car to the lucky new owner.
Aesthetics. Dark blue leather interior is like a time warp, having been covered and garaged in drought-ridden Southern California for 30+ years. Silver paint appears to have received a respray sometime in the 1980s prior to being garaged. Paint has a few superficial nicks and scratches. Typical parking lot door dings on the passenger side. One hard-to-discern concave dent on the nose near the grill opening (likely where a small can of paint or a like heavy/blunt object fell on it while in storage), and less than a foot north of that, one convex dent where someone may have tried to jack the front end under the radiator instead of the frame, leaving a mark in the steel. There appears to be no rust on the car except possibly some superficial surface rust in some crevices. New Hankook whitewall tires on original chrome wire wheels show their age but are still usable and could benefit from re-chroming at some point. Original spare tire (appears to be unused, with chalk still on the tire) in the boot with tool roll (no jack or knock-off tools, sorry). Bumpers show well, with some superficial pitting visible upon close inspection. Boot hatch window has received new rubber and chrome trim and is solid and leak-free. Driver's door window received new rubber as well. Remaining rubber along windows and bumpers is intact but aging.
In short, this is a period sports car with appropriate patina and targeted upgrades that runs like a champ. This car gets more attention wherever it goes than any car I've previously owned. It is a wonderful work of art. If you love Jags and want a stylish 1960's time machine, meet your new ride...
