This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II coupe was purchased by the seller’s late father in 1983 and underwent a refurbishment in 2013. It is finished in Signal Red over black leather and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a louvered clamshell hood, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ wire wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an AM/FM radio. This XKE coupe is now offered by the seller on behalf of their mother with the owner’s manual, service manuals, spare parts, a car cover, and a Washington title.
The car is finished in Signal Red and was repainted around 2013, at which time the trim and rubber seals were replaced. Exterior equipment includes a driver-side mirror, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, a louvered clamshell hood, and dual exhaust outlets. Bubbling on the driver’s door, dings, and other blemishes are visible.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by earless knock-offs and are mounted with Advantage T/A tires measuring 205/65. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black leather along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. Interior appointments include a push-button radio, a locking glovebox, and a heater.
The two-spoke steering wheel wears an aftermarket cover and frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 44k miles.
The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. The engine was reportedly rebuilt by XKS Motors of Santa Barbara, California, in 2013. A replacement starter was installed in July 2024, and work in preparation for the sale consisted of replacing the battery and fuel filter as well as adjusting the carburetors.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The Washington title lists “Classic” under the brands section.
