Ebay item 10/18/06
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-1970-Jaguar-E-Type-Coupe-No-Reserve_W0QQit ...
Opening bid $20,000, no reserve, no bids yet, 6 days left in auction. 83k miles.
Sellers description:
A matching numbers, 1970, Jaguar E - Type owned by one of our customers. In an effort to thin out a large collection, we are offering this car on his behalf.
Purchased on ebay in 2002, the car was an incomplete restoration. We did a fair amount of work on the car here in our shop. The engine was freshened up with new pistons, bearings, valves, chains, etc. The driveshaft received new U-joints. The carbs were overhauled. The exhaust was replaced. The slave cylinder was replaced. Also, we installed new moulding and seals for the front and rear glass.
The paint was done before we got the car. It is an above average paint job but not show quality. Some buffing may bring it to a show quality level. Although close to the original, the color is a slightly lighter, or redder, shade than the factory color.
The rubber trim for the rear bumper needs to be installed.
The car is rust free. Originally a midwest car, we found only one small hole on the driver's side floor which we repaired. The frame rails appear to be straight and true and there is no evidence of any wreck damage.
Most of the engine bay fittings are present and there appears to be no modification to originality. The suspension and the remaining components of the chassis including the brakes appear to be original and in good working order. The car runs and drives just fine.
The interior is mostly original. The dash top crash pad was recovered with some non-authentic vinyl. The armrest was recovered in vinyl and the shift boot is torn. The seats are not torn, but are worn and could stand to be restored. Everything works except for the map light, the speedo (cable), and the clock. The heater fan works on both sides but is noisy.
Jaguar officianados will recognize the chassis number as being for a 1969. The car was built in October of 1969 and probably was sold and therefore originally registered in this country as a 1970.
We are located approximately 30 minutes north of Baltimore. There is no reserve on this auction.

Car has a buy it now price of $42,000 for 6 days. 83k miles.
Sellers description:
This great car is the original color combination (also original for this car) of Regency Red with biscuit/tan interior. It has history, receipts and correspondence going back to 1973. This excellent Jaguar had 4 meticulous owners. It was never abused and always taken care of with the utmost care. There are very few Jaguar E-types that drive as well as this one does. It has excellent power (great acceleration) and plenty of torque in every gear at any speed. At highway speeds, this car does not shake, is stable to the road and passes with ease. It shifts perfect and handles exceptional. This is a car for someone who is going to DRIVE it and ENJOY the car! The interior was recently redone and looks better then new. In addition, the paint, while not brand new was redone as well and looks beautiful on the car. Furthermore, the engine was rebuilt with new pistons, valves, chains, etc. A newer exhaust has been installed. Also, a new slave cylinder and the brakes have been done as well. The carburetors have also been rebuilt. This fabulous E-type has the original and complete Jaguar tool set, as well as the original Jack, knock off adaptor and hammer. This is a matching number car.
As said earlier, mechanically this car is excellent. The compression is 150 to 160 psi on every cylinder and the oil pressure at idle is above 40 pounds. Also, it is in great shape cosmetically with an excellent body and structurally sound. The floors are solid and excellent. The underside is rust free, clean and looks to be in excellent original condition. Really needs nothing to be enjoyed and lots of fun! The Jaguar E-type Coupes have a very unique look and design. I have driven and owned a lot of e-types. I have always loved the solid feel of a coupe, and the design is truly breathtaking! Jaguar E-type coupes are great investments. If you are looking for a fun Jaguar E-type to frequently drive and enjoy, this would be the perfect car for you!
This automobile is available for inspection in Charlotte, NC.

Current bid US $22,100 reserve not met 16 bids 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Cornelius, North Carolina. 84k miles.
Sellers description:
1970 Jaguar E-type Series II Fixed-head Coupe. This Jaguar was built on October 8th of 1969 and the date of dispatch was November 5th 1969. The first owner was Mr. Cotton Guio of Big Piney in Wyoming USA. This great car is the original color combination of Regency Red with biscuit/tan interior. It has history, receipts and correspondence going back to 1973. It was never abused and always kept up with the utmost care. We are privileged to have owned this car several times in the past few years in its recent history. Our original purchase of this car was in 2010 from a gentleman in NC who owned this car since the early 2000s. I then sold it to very nice collector in NY who had it for a few years, but unfortunately and unexpectedly passed away. We purchased the car back from his family and did some refresh work to the engine. We then sold the car to another nice man in Maine who had the car for the past 3 years. He enjoyed the car, but did not drive it a lot only placing less than 700 miles on the car. A few months ago we purchased this car back and now we are offering it for sale again. This is a very special Jaguar E-type Coupe. There are not a lot of Jaguar E-types that drive as well as this one does. It shifts perfect and handles exceptional. This is a car for someone who is going to drive it and enjoy the car! The interior was redone and looks better than new. In addition, the paint, while not brand new was redone as well and looks beautiful on the car. Furthermore, the engine was rebuilt at 54,576 miles, but was also taken apart and refreshed in 2012 at 83,750 miles as detailed below. The car has 84,472 original miles, so to put this in perspective on a 45 year old car, it has averaged 1,900 miles per year with most of the miles placed on this car early in its life. There were only about 18,000 miles placed on this great Jaguar since 1979.The carburetors have also been rebuilt. This fabulous E-type has the original Jaguar tool set, as well as the original Jack, knock off adaptor and hammer. Some of the work done more recently by our shop between 2/2012 - 6/2015 (not including the previous work done to this car such as engine rebuild, new interior, paint, etc.):
Adjusted Valves
Rebuilt carburetors
New rings
Decarbonized Pistons and Valves
New rod Bearings

Overall, mechanically this car is excellent. The compression is 150 to 160 psi on every cylinder and the oil pressure is also excellent. Also, it is in great shape cosmetically with an excellent body and structurally sound. The floors are solid and excellent and the underside is rust free and clean.
