Offered for sale is an absolutely beautiful, mechanically excellent, numbers matching 1970 Jaguar E-Type FHC (Fixed Head Coupe) that's had only two owners from new, accruing a mere ­­­­­­71,404 original miles in its 45 years of service. Finished in ever-refined and factory correct Pale Primrose over its original Black leather interior, this is undeniably one of the finest examples of a Series II E-Type we've ever come across.

Acquired by the second owner in 1974, he would enjoy the car in its original state for nearly 20 years before commissioning an extensive exterior restoration with marque expert Lindley Restorations, Ltd. of Pottstown, Pennsylvania to the tune of more than $20,000 ($32k in today's dollars). The restoration was performed at the very highest level, most notably (amongst a laundry list of refurbishments) including a bare metal refinishing of the car's original Pale Primrose paintjob as well as a complete restoration of the car's undercarriage with all of the requisite metal work. Since completion of the restoration, the second owner has cared for and maintained the car to a fanatical level, resulting in the exceptional example offered here today.

The quality of Lindley's work cannot be lauded enough. Had we not seen documentation and pictures of the restoration, we would have assumed the car's undercarriage to be entirely original and factory flawless. The same can be said of the car's laser-straight body, which retains correct and entirely consistent panel fits and gaps throughout, and after more than 20 years the Pale Primrose finish has incredible depth, luster and consistency, marred only by a few negligible imperfections that neither appear in any of the pictures nor detract from the car's considerable appeal. All of the bright work is exceptional, the glass and rubber is in great shape and the original chrome wire wheels are wrapped in Michelin white wall tires with plenty of remaining tread.

At the time of restoration, the car's carpets were replaced, however the seats and interior panels are completely original, bearing only the patina of a well cared-for, sparingly driven example. The original wood steering wheel is free of any cracks, as is the dash, which houses a fully functional switch panel and gauges. The trunk mat is virtually flawless and underneath you'll find the original full spare wire wheel and tire as well as the original changing tools.

The car has also received extensive mechanical attention, with more than $7,000 having been spent within the last three years and 1,500 miles at Lippincott's Garage, an E-Type specialist in Sinking Springs, PA.
