Ebay item 1/1/07
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-E-TYPE-COUPE-1970-JAGUAR-E-TYPE-COUPE-WITH ...
Current bid $1,026.04 reserve not met, 2 bids, 6 days left in auction. 89k miles.

Sellers description:
1970 JAGUAR E-TYPE COUPE WITH AIR CONDITIONING *

THIS IS A 1970 JAGUAR E-TYPE IS A TWO PLACE COUPE ( NOT A 2+2) EQUIPPED WITH THE RARE AND DESIRABLE AIR CONDITIONING AND WIRE WHEELS.

OBVIOUSLY, SOMEONE ALREADY STARTED THE RESTORATION BY REPLACING BOTH SILLS. THIS WORK WAS DONE CORRECTLY WITH WELDING PER ORIGINAL SPECIFICATIONS, AND EPOXY PRIMER APPLIED. THE FLOORS, BOTTOM OF THE SPARE TIRE WELL AND FRAME MEMBERS ARE ALL SOLID. IN FACT ASIDE FROM SOME MINOR BUBBLING OVER THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL, THERE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE ANY OTHER RUST REPAIRED REQUIRED. THIS WAS ORIGINALLY A MARYLAND CAR WHICH PROBABLY ACCOUNTS FOR THE CONDITION. THERE ARE A FEW PAINT ISSUES FROM PREVIOUS PAINT JOB THAT COULD BE EASILY ADDRESSED.

THE GLASS IS ALL IN GOOD SHAPE AND THE CHROME IS USABLE BUT NOT SHOW QUALITY. THE PASSENGER SEAT, DOOR PANELS AND INTERIOR TRIM APPEARS TO BE ORIGINAL AND QUITE SATISFACTORY. THERE ARE TEARS IN THE DRIVER SEAT UPHOLSTERY. THE SILL UPHOLSTERY AND FRONT CARPET ARE MISSING.

IT STARTS EASILY, IDLES SMOOTHLY AND REV'S FREELY. THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO HAVE ALL OF GEARS. THE CLUTCH DOES NOT OPERATE WHICH I HAVE BEEN TOLD IS PROBABLY A BAD SLAVE CYLINDER, BUT I DO NOT KNOW THAT FOR SURE. THE BRAKES ARE FUNCTIONAL BUT THEY SHOULD BE CHECKED OVER PRIOR TO USE BECAUSE OF LONG STORAGE. THE REAR WINDOW GASKET IS QUITE DETERIORATED, AS YOU WOULD EXPECT FROM A CAR OF THIS AGE AND IT SHOULD BE REPLACED.

THIS BEAUTIFUL CAR PRESENTS A VERY ECONOMICAL ENTRY E-TYPE OWNERSHIP WITH A VERY EASY RESTORATION AND VERY DESIRABLE BODY STYLE WITH THE BEST OPTIONS. THE ODOMETER READING IS LISTED AS EXEMPT ON THE TITLE SO WE ARE SELLING IT AS UNKNOWN MILEAGE.

WE HAVE A CLEAR PENNSYLVANIA TITLE FOR THIS CAR AND IT IS BEING SOLD AS IS.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
