Sellers description:
4 years ago this 70, 2 seat coupe went through its transformation. Stripped to a bare steel tub (top and bottom) the stock trailer-like tail lights were removed and steel body panels were fabricated which follow the body lines with semi-recessed tail lights. Side marker lights were shaved and the stock oversized front turn signal lights were replaced with welded contured panels. .0125" steel rod was welded into the top fender seams and the headlight buckets were internally mounted and welded into position. The end result is a cleaner, smoother look front, back and side than any other Series II XKE. The side "Leaper" was incorporated into the dark red Dupont Chromabase paint. These modifications were all fabricated and welded steel panels. The engine is strong and smooth, at operating temp it maintains excellent oil pressure. Engine compression is 170lbs.+/- 5 on all cylinders. The oil pan was opened for an internal inspection, it is clean and correct. Operating temps are normal. The 4 speed trans. upshifts and downshifts smoothly. The exhaust flows through performance mufflers which give this cat a distinctive snarl. The original chrome is in good condition. The spare tire and jacking equipment is all there. The tires, tubes and wheel rubber are almost new. The original radio operates correctly. When parked next to a stock Series II coupe this Jag looks "race like".
There are a few items which someone might address but do not affect the driveability: the horn components are MIA (from rebuild), the inside turn signal lights don't work(bulbs?)(outsides work fine)emergency park pads need replacement, Small bubbles in the upper right windshield corner adjacent to chrome(not visible unless you're very close.
This XKE is ready to be enjoyed and driven now. Any inspection prior to the auction close is welcome.

We (Pristine Classics) bought the car and shipped it to Ireland where we enjoyed it for a while and addressed the issues mentioned by the previous owner. We sold the car in September of 2011 and delivered it to the new owner in Basel, Switzerland who owns and operates the Pantheon Basel. www.pantheonbasel.ch
