Ebay item 9/30/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1970-Jaguar-Etype-XKE-Coupe-/120786440874
Current bid $12,600 reserve not met, 5 bids 6 days left in auction. 85k miles.
Sellers description:
1970 XKE FHC which is an unmolested, rust free 3 owner car. All 3 owners including me served in the USAF. The car was originally bought new in Patterson NJ by a USAF Major 16 July 1970 on his return from Vietnam. The Major moved down to Warner Robbins and then car was sold in Fort Walton beach to another USAF vet and then me.
The car is 100% original and is completely rust free. The paint is original and is faded in places withe the typical cracking. The interior is all original and the headliner still looks new. Seats have the typical cracking but but look good and still supple.
Car miles are accurate and the car runs and drives tight. Front rotors do shimmy on hard braking and would suspect rotors need to be turned on front or possibly replaced. Car is very fast and pulls incredibly hard and changes smooth gears. Have allot of documentation and all original books that came with car. This car is really like a time capsule and this is why I have never painted the car. Under the bonnet and in the boot looks almost like it came out of the factory. Still retains the original dunlop wheels with new redlines.
