Sold by New Forest Classic Car Hire in March 2024. Listed on eBayUK. Sold by auction for £17,700. Amended seller's description below.
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/315237717893
UK market Series 2 E Type 2+2. I braked for a cyclist, the driver behind me didn't. So here we have what's left of my stunning E Type. Insurance paid out and I bought a new one. The plan was to repair this one and put it back on the road, but I don't have the time or inclination to get stuck into it so here it is with no reserve. MoT to 19 April 2024, although it will need a new one anyway as it has been written off by the insurance company. The engine runs well, previously looked after by a well regarded specialist before my ownership, then fettled further in my workshop before the accident.
The car requires repairs to the boot floor, both rear wings, the drivers side is worst, and wheel arches and whilst there you might as well repair a tiny bit of rust on the bonnet. Will probably need a new fuel tank, just to be careful. The accident pushed the exhaust forward which cracked the rear exhaust manifold, so although it starts and runs, its very loud! Otherwise no obvious engine or gearbox damage. The car is 99% complete, apart from the alternator and a couple of bits and pieces. In excellent pre accident condition with no advisories on last year's MoT, the car has covered less than 1000 miles since then.
Huge history file dating back 40 years. The pictures form part of the description. The car is registered as Category S and is sold for salvage only, no warranties or guarantees are given. The car car is in my storage unit near Salisbury. I have the V5 in my name showing 8 owners since new. The car will require a new MoT and be re-registered with the DVLA before it can return to the road.
