It was way back in 1956 that Jaguar hatched their master plan to produce a ground breaking sportscar along the lines of their Le Mans winning D Type and as a more practical replacement for the seen to be rather dated XK120, 140 and 150 line. The resultant E Type finally reached the showrooms in 1961, open roadster and closed coupes being offered, initially with 3.8 and soon with 4.2 six cylinder engined. From 1966, a 2+2 fixed head with either manual or automatic transmission was also offered by the Coventry firm.
The vendor believes that the Jaguar E Type 4.2 2+2 fixed head coupe in red with beige interior offer here today has done some 62,000 miles from new in 1970. We are told that the car has only seen dry use recently and that all six previous owners have been traced. The history file includes all MOTs since 1989 and a Heritage Certificate authenticating the manufacturing details. Both bodywork and paint finish are described as being very good, the interior trim being good, too, with only modest wear and the preferred manual transmission is reportedly in excellent condition. Just look at the estimate and you will realise that this a very affordable E Type indeed.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
