Current bid $5,855.00 (Reserve not met), 9 bids, 9 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
1969 JAGUAR XKE 2+2 COUPE. CAR IS A 4 SPEED AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN DRIVEN BY MY WIFE THE ENTIRE TIME WE OWNED IT. WE'VE OWNED THIS CAR FOR OVER 18 YEARS AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN A FUN CAR TO DRIVE AND ENJOY BUT'S IT TIME TO SELL IT AND BUY SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

THE CAR IS CURRENTLY SHOWING 49,027 MILES AND I BELIEVE THIS IS CORRECT. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED IN OHIO AND HAS SPENT THE LAST 15 YEARS IN THE SOUTH. WE'VE ENTERED THIS CAR IN MANY SHOWS AND ALWAYS GET SOME TROPHY BECAUSE OF IT UNIQUENESS.

THIS IS A GREAT DRIVER BUT IS NOT PERFECT. I WOULDN'T BE AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR CROSS COUNTRY. IT STARTS EVERY TIME AND HAS NEVER LEFT US STUCK.

THE PAINT IS SHOWING ITS AGE AND SOMEWHERE BEFORE WE PURCHASED IT THE REAR FENDERS HAD A FLARE INSTALLED. I GUESS THAT WAS THE CUSTOM RAGE AT ONE TIME. THERE IS SOME BONDO IN THE ROCKER PANELS BUT THE FLOORS ARE SOLID AND THERE IS NO OBVIOUS RUST ON THE BODY. THE CHROME IS STRAIGHT AND CLEAN BUT SHOWING ITS AGE.

THE INTERIOR IS GOOD EXCEPT FOR THE HEAD LINER FELL DOWN SOME YEARS AGO AND WE REMOVED IT. DASH AND SEATS ARE GOOD WITH ONLY MINOR WEAR ON DRIVERS SEAT.

THIS IS THE 2+2 COUPE, SO YOU HAVE A SMALL REAR SEAT TO HAUL YOUR LUGGAGE. ALSO, WITH THE REAR HATCH OPEN THERE'S PLENTY OF ROOM TO PUT YOU LUGGAGE FOR THAT WEEK END TRIP.

THIS XKE RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT AND HAS NEVER GIVEN US ANY MECHANICAL PROBLEMS. OVER THE YEARS, THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN REBUILT, NEW CLUTCH SLAVE CYLINDER, THE RADIATOR CLEANED, WATER PUMP REPLACED, ALTERNATOR REPLACED, VOLTAGE REGULATOR REPLACED, CARBURETORS REBUILT AND NORMAL MAINTENANCE ITEMS.

INFORMATION ON DATA PLATE UNDER BONNET IS:

    CAR NUMBER: 1R40189

    BODY NUMBER: 4R36233

    ENGINE NUMBER: 7R35267-9

    GEAR BOX NUMBER: KJS 825

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
