Car returns to ebay 8/17/20

www.ebay.com/itm/1969-Jaguar-XK/114360922989

Classified ad price: $59,998 seller volomuseumautosales, 0 miles reported, car now said to be in Round Lake, Illinois, previously St. Louis, MO.

Seller's description:

Best of both worlds. The stunning beauty of a XKE with reliability and performance of a Ford.

EXTERIOR: Striking good looks. This is one of the most attractive sports car designs, it is considered rolling artwork. Add to it those polished aluminum wheels with spinners and wow! The body appears to be in excellent shape. I'm looking all around it- down both sides, across every panel it is straight. I don't see any signs of damage- no door dings, no rust. The paint has a smooth, glossy finish. The chrome looks like it's in very good original condition. The rear bumper is re-chromed. The glass has a soft tint.

INTERIOR: Beautiful condition inside. The seats and headrests are redone in the correct leather upholstery. The center armrest cushion and console are reupholstered in leather. The carpets look new- correctly cut, has bound edges. Dash pad is recovered. It has all the original Jaguar cockpit style instrumentation and toggle switches. Original wood grain steering wheel. It does have an upgraded stereo and speakers.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: What a major improvement. It has a Ford 302 performance built motor. Upgrades include Offenhauser intake with a dual feed Holly carb, HEI ignition and headers. Dressed up with a set of vintage finned aluminum valve covers and custom air cleaner cover. Very recently tuned up, has Ford racing plug wires and new plugs. The carb was rebuilt. The air conditioning system was serviced and is blowing cold. It has twin electric fans on the radiator to keep the car running cool.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The rear hatch opens up with a chrome handle inside. It is all carpeted and trimmed out meticulously. One of the original wire wheels is underneath the floorboard.

UNDERSIDE: Appears to be solid. It has the famous Jag rear end with independent suspension, inboard disc brakes and 4 coil over shocks. Upfront the suspension looks like it has new bushings, shocks and rubber boots. It has disc brakes too.

This car will certainly turn heads. There isn't another one like it. It is exciting to drive too!

Lot #105677

This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II 2+2 was previously owned by actor and WWE professional wrestler John Cena and is powered by a 302ci Ford V8 mated to a three-speed C4 automatic transmission and is finished in black over black vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes an Offenhauser intake manifold, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, an HEI distributor, four-wheel disc brakes, and 18″ Strasse wheels as well as a louvered clamshell hood, wood-rimmed steering wheel, air conditioning, Smiths instrumentation, aftermarket speakers, and a Sony AM/FM cassette stereo. The car was acquired by the seller in 2022, and work in 2023 consisted of replacing the carburetor and flushing the fuel system. This XKE coupe is now offered with an Arizona title in the seller’s name.

The body, exterior trim, bumpers, door handles, and badging have been refinished in black, and additional details include a louvered clamshell hood, bumper overriders, dual mirrors, tinted windows, and black dual exhaust finishers. Flaws shown below in the gallery include swirls in the paint, cracked weatherstripping around the rear window, and an outward dent in the center of the hood.

Black 18″ Strasse wheels are mounted with 215/45 Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with inboard rear rotors. The front suspension bushings, shock absorbers, ball joints, and rubber boots are said to have been replaced under previous ownership.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench re-trimmed in black leather upholstery joined by a matching dashboard cover, center armrest, console, and headrests. Additional appointments include air conditioning, aftermarket speakers, and a Sony AM/FM/cassette stereo.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline, while a clock and auxiliary gauges are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 36k miles, approximately 200 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The replacement 302ci Ford V8 was installed under previous ownership and features an Offenhauser intake manifold, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, a custom air cleaner lid, an HEI distributor, Accel ignition wires, and finned Weiand valve covers. An aluminum radiator with dual electric fans has been installed. Work in 2023 is said to have consisted of installing a Holley carburetor, flushing the fuel system, and performing an oil change.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed C4 automatic transmission. A custom dual exhaust system with an X-pipe and bullet-style mufflers has been installed. Corrosion is visible on underbody components.

There is currently a lien on the car, and the owner’s lender will need to be paid off before the car can be transferred to the new owner.

Car returns to ebay 6/7/23

www.ebay.com/itm/275890462263

Classified ad price $89,995, seller streetsideclassiccars, 65k miles, car now in Mesa, Arizona, not sold at above auction.

Seller's description:

1972 Jaguar

Exterior Color: Black

Interior Color: Black

Body Type: Coupe

Transmission: 3 Speed Automatic

Drivetrain: RWD

Engine: 302 V8

Mileage: 65,961

This is a Series II car, and that means it has the desirable delicate details, but they take on a whole new attitude when features like the thin wraparound bumpers are now a glossy-but-mean black. And the aggression gets turned up a notch with the 18-inch Strasse custom wheels and dual exhaust tips that look like they were borrowed from a double-barrel shotgun. But what we possibly like best of all is that this total package upgrades its intimidation without losing the stylishness that makes us love an E-Type.

The full blackout style continues inside. The carpeting, door panels, dash, and headliner have a nice style that makes it inviting. And the black seats are reupholstered in supple leather that really gives you that proper premium Jaguar feel. And we like the little details like how the working dash light showcases the Smiths auxiliary readouts and all the classic switches. There's even a bit of practicality with the 2+2 giving you a usable back seat and a large cargo area. You may want to recharge the air conditioning or upgrade the radio, but those are the little things that are just a sideshow to the driving experience. After all, there is a special tingle of excitement when you grab the wood-rimmed steering wheel, twist the key, and hear a distinct roar from this cat.

You're going to love tilting the whole front section forward to showcase a truly unique powerplant. The long air grabber is a bit of a tribute to the classic inline-six, but the Weiand ribbed valve covers mean it's not really trying to fool anyone. This is a nice upgrade to a Hardy 302 cubic-inch Ford V8. It's built right with good supporting components like an HEI distributor, an aluminum radiator, and a smooth-shifting three-speed automatic transmission. The V8 inhales deeply with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with a terrific sound as headers add power and rumble to the glasspack-style dual exhaust. It's a strong power package, and the famous Jaguar rear end that debuted on the XKE is legendary for being both stout and sporting. This fully independent sports suspension setup joins the four-wheel disc brakes to make sure the American muscle still handles like a European.

The sale comes complete with a copy of previous title documentation with John Cena's name and signature. So if this Jag had enough muscle for him, then you know it's the right custom for you, too. Call today!!!
