Dating from 1969, this 2+2 S2 Coupe was supplied new to the American market and remained there for the next 30 years. It was brought back to the UK in 1999 and registered here with the number UAX 112G (V5C on file). At some point in the past the car was completely dismantled for a full restoration which never got completed.
As you can see the body and structure are in excellent, rust-free condition so the hardest part of the restoration has already been done. It comes with box-loads of parts and a Getrag 5-speed 'box although there is no guarantee that it is complete and bidders are advised to satisfy themselves on that score by having a good rummage for themselves. In essence though, all the next owner has to do is put it all back together again and get it painted. Doesn't sound too bad if you say it quickly, does it?
OK, let's not kid anyone, this is a major project but what the heck, winter is coming, you have to find something to amuse you on those long dark evenings, and at least you will end up with something worth north of £50k if you do it properly. It is being offered here at no reserve so the most optimistic bidder takes it home...

I used to own this car. If the present owner contacts the register please feel free to give my contact information as I can fill in the quite interesting history from 1999 to 2009.
Best wishes,
Jan.
