Auction description:
Lot : 74
1969 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 2+2
SOLD for £7700
Registration No: WRP 65H
Chassis No: 1R42598BW
Engine No: 7R38237-9
Colour: Green
Trim Colour: Cinnamon
MOT: March 2010
According to a letter on file from Browns Lane, this particular example was originally finished in British Racing Green with Cinnamon upholstery and despatched new to British Leyland's New York dealership. Repatriated to the UK several decades later, the Jaguar is said to have been "professionally converted from left- to right-hand drive specification at a cost of £4,000 plus". While, more recent work has apparently included: "an overhaul of the twin Stromberg carburettors in 2004 (£381)" and the installation of "a new light switch panel". Pleasingly retaining its original upholstery, the E-type is described by the vendor as being in "good" condition with regard to its engine, automatic transmission, electrical equipment, interior trim, bodywork and paintwork. While, he goes on to say that `WRP 65H' is "a good honest car. The only reason I am selling is because I have acquired a pre-WW2 MG project". Stylish yet practical, this Jaguar is offered for sale with MOT certificate valid until March 2010 and historic class (free) road tax.
