Ebay item 4/21/05
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Opening bid $11,750, no reserve, no bids yet, 4 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
This is a VERY ORIGINAL AND SUPERSOLID 1969 Jaguar XKE Roadster, VIN#1R7038,matching engine 1R1099 and transmission, car shows only 49K original miles on the clock, it has had 3 owners since new, prior owners disassembled it properly for restoration, stripped the tub and epoxy primed it and base coat cleared it of the original color, the body has absolutely NO RUST, trunk floor EXCELLENT, NEVER in an accident, nose section was stripped and primered on the inside and repaired where needed (minimal attention was required), engine was disassembled and a local Jaguar specialist in Boston did the hot tank/clean of the block, prepped it and installed new freeze plugs, pistons are the original ones and in excellent shape as well as the rods, in need of rings and bearings, engine will need a full reassembly, there are a lot of new parts for it and several engine covers have been plated and polished, transmission has been gone through and checked and cleaned, ready for detail, brake calipers have been rebuilt and are also ready for installation, most of the front and rear suspension has been diassembled/reassembled freshened up and new mounts were installed, good wire wheels, then the project stalled and for a few years sat dormant, until now, the car is 100% complete as far as I can tell, I took a quick inventory of all of the parts and I took pics of most of the big and important pieces that many of you may want to see, but everything appears to be there and properly stored away in big plastic totes, also easy that was for shipping purposes.....This is a rare car and in todays market resotred cars fetch upwards of $60/70Ks, this is a GREAT project to put together, it is NOT a rustbucket and basically the easier (sort of , but certainly more interesting) part is left to do...Paint on it is quite nice and may only need minimal touch up, nose is going to need to be color matched, and you will get the idea from the pics.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
