    Car listed on EBay:

    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll

    Description: Jaguar : XKE
1969 Jaguar XKE ONE OWNER LOW MILES

    Miles: 36000 Doors: 2 doors
    Transmission: Manual Interior: Black
    Engine: 6 - Cyl. Year: 1969
    VIN Number: 1R7130 Exterior: Yellow

Vehicle Description: Here is an opportunity of a lifetime to own the most desirable ORIGINAL Series II, E-Type from my private collection. This roadster only has 36000 original miles. The same family has owned this E-Type since 1969. The person that I purchased it from said that his father-in law bought it, than gave it to his daughter (his wife) when he passed and when she passed he decided to sell this long time family heirloom. This is one of few Jaguars I have ever owned that is like a time capsule and runs & drives like a champ. With out hesitation I can say you can hop in this car and drive it with no problem. I am selling this car to complete some longtime overdue ongoing projects. The car starts on a dime and does not smoke oil pressure is 50 PSI plus. The paint has some blemishes like flaking on the doors and spider webbing and nicks. Also the numbers that I can see like the engine match the ID plate. The worse thing about this car is the paint but it is the original color and no rust. The interior is in excellent condition and the top is the same only with a small tear near the seam of the side window (it is unnoticeable and can be repaired). This is a car that you can drive or show and win respectable notoriety.

The original engine in this car was completely overhauled and finished in 2008. Every part except the block, head, crankshaft and both camshafts were renewed. Head was planed, as was flywheel. Then in 2010 the entire rear end was taken off the car and all parts brought up to new-like standards. This work was done in Pensacola first by Ian Brown, formerly Jaguar's North American tech rep, and when he died halfway through the rear end work, the rear end was reworked and assembled by James Michael Bamford. This car alternates driving chores with my '91 Corvette. Not only is the rear and engine in top notch condition, but so is the body which was repainted in 2004 in its original color, Pale Primrose, but with 3 color coats and 3 clear coats. The car was purchased in 2003. The upholstery in the interior and the boot were renewed in 2004. This car may be one of the very best running E types in the USA.

    2011-02-24 21:34:33 | Vince Cooke writes:

This car is driven since its restoration. Engine, front end, clutch and complete rear end have been totally restored. As of this date, 24 Feb 11, car has only 2000 miles since engine restoration and 400 miles since rear restoration. Interior has been restored as has the boot. Of course, new paint on body. Probably the best running E Type in North America.

Brand new and complete stainless steel exhaust system installed in Sept 2014.

2015 completed restoration by Gross Bros on W St in Pensacola. Body completely disassembled and repainted original color Pale Primrose. Renewed windshield, took finish off and repainted with undercoat/primer, color coat and clear coat. When finished replaced radiator, and complete exhaust system. As of July 2017 car is in like-new condition. Has been garaged since purchase in 2003.

    www.ebay.com/itm/1969-Jaguar-E-Type-Series-II-Convertible/223492531784

Opening bid US $71,435.00 Reserve not met 0 bids, 1 day left in auction, seller stlouiscarmuseum, 44k miles. Car now said to be in St. Louis, Missouri.

    Seller's description:

Super sharp example with only 3 registered owners from new showing just 44,957 original miles! All numbers matching and paint code correct! Restored both cosmetically and mechanically to beautiful condition! Optioned with 4-speed, luggage rack, redline tires, stainless steel exhaust, and more! Offered here is a superb 1969 Jaguar XKE Convertible finished in factory code correct Pale Primrose over Black interior and matching black soft top! Powered by it all original, numbers matching drivetrain featuring the 4.2L Inline 6 DOHC engine and 4-speed fully synchromesh manual transmission! Options include power disc brakes, wood steering wheel, telescoping steering column, 72-spoke chrome wire spoke wheels wrapped in 185R15 Michelin X radial redline tires, dual outside mirrors, Blaupunkt AM/FM radio, windshield washers, Smiths instrumentation, and completely polished stainless steel exhaust system! This gorgeous example began life with the original owner, who would pass it on to his daughter after his death. After her passing, the spouse elected to finally sell this one owner example in 2003 to a broker. It would be purchased by Lillian, AL resident & veteran Navy Captain Vince Cooke with just 36,016 miles on the odometer. He would cherish his acquisition for the next 15 years with the cars first base coat/clear coat repaint in 2004. After enjoying his all original Jaguar for about 5 years, he elected to have the engine professionally overhauled by Ian Brown, a Jaguar Technical Representative for North America dealerships. It would be completed rebuilt utilizing the original block, heads, crankshaft, and cams, with the head planed & the flywheel turned with brand new clutch kit installed. All other components would be fully rebuilt, replaced, or renewed. After 2,000 miles of enjoyment, Ian Brown and James Bamford would be asked to entirely rebuild the rear end in 2010. It too would be renewed to like-new Jaguar standards. The body would finally receive the deserving attention in 2015 when the Gross Bros of Pensacola, FL would completely disassemble this car entirely and give it a proper bare metal repaint. This would include multiple primer/sealer coats, and a stunning base coat/clear coat finish! A new windshield would be installed, while retaining the original Triplex side glass. New rubber seals and gaskets would be installed, along with a brand new aluminum radiator, silver ceramic coated exhaust manifolds and polished stainless steel exhaust system fitted. Sadly, Capt. Cooke would pass away in February 2018 at the age of 83 and the Jaguar would sell on to the Bell Meade Collection in Nashville, TN. Today, the odometer reads only 44,957 miles, of which about 5,500 miles are on the rebuilt engine.
