Even in project form, E-Types are exciting! So imagine how we felt when a local guy called up and asked if we could help him sell three that he inherited from his father. All three are from 1969 and all three need to be restored. This is the first of the batch and although a big project, the fact that it’s a wire wheel roadster makes it totally worth rescuing. Keep reading to learn more.

Although not currently running, the seller claims that the inline-six engine is free and the 4-speed transmission shifts into gear. It hasn’t run in a long time but the seller remembers driving around the yard when he was younger. His father purchased it from a body shop and had big plans to restore it but other projects took precedence. Plan on a full mechanical restoration here.

Unfortunately, the seats and door panels have gone missing. The dash is there but a lot of treasure hunting will be needed to put this one back together. There are a lot of parts suppliers and used bits out there though so the job shouldn’t be impossible. The biggest task here might be repairing the rusty floors. The tin worm does like these old Jags so that is not a big surprise.

The majority of the body actually looks very solid. The nose has a few dings but no big holes that we could see. The worst of the body damage is concentrated on the passenger side rear quarter panel. We are guessing it was in a fender bender and the work was never finished. So plan on replacing the fender, some of the inner structure, and the door.

This car is located in Boise, Idaho and the seller has a clear title in his name. The buyer will be responsible for shipping.
