Sellers description:
1969 Jaguar XKE Series II Roadster which I have owned for 24 years. This car spent its first 16 years in southern California and has since been in my possession and kept in Seattle, WA. There is no significant rust on the car. The car was originally wedgewood blue and was painted white by its previous owner in California. There are several chips in the paint and a minor amount of cracking and bubbling on the bonnet in the area of the louvers. The rubber mouldings on the car are original. The chrome parts on the car need to be redone to restore their original luster. The interior on the car is original. Everything on the instrument panel works except the clock. The radio works. The engine in this car was originally equipped with a pair of Stromberg carburetors. I removed and replaced them with triple SU's. I will make the Stromberg carbs available to the winning bidder at no cost. This car is in excellent mechanical condition and extremely reliable; I would not hesitate to drive it across the country. All parts purchased from the most reputible suppliers (e.g Welsh Enterprises, XK's Unlimited, and East Coast Jaguar). The following is a summary of work done on the car:

Engine
* Spin on oil filter conversion (old filter housing is available)
* New timing chain and tensioner (replaced when new cover gaskets installed to stop oil leaks)
* New motor mounts
* New distributer (part of triple SU upgrade)

Electrical
* Rebuilt alternator
* New ignition coil
* New ignition leads
* New ignition, lighting, and voltage regulator relays (non Lucas to improve reliability)
* New battery
* New voltage regulator

Fuel System
* New electric fuel pump
* New hoses

Cooling and Heating System
* New thermostat
* New fan otter switch
* Replaced steel heater cross over pipes with Cu-Ni pipes
* Replaced heater core
* New temperature control valve
* New hoses

Drive Train
* New clutch
* Rebuilt gearbox (new bearings, synchros, seals, and lay shaft)
* New oil seals on differential
* New universal joints (drive line and rear axle)

Suspension System
* New ball joints
* New bushings
* New shock absorbers

Brakes and Hydraulics
* Rebuilt clutch master cylinder
* New clutch slave cylinder
* New brake master cylinder with reaction valve
* New vacuum surge tank check valve
* Replaced pistons and pads in rear brake calipers (stainless pistons)
* New rear brake rotors

Exhaust System
* New mufflers
* New expansion joints
* Coated exhaust manifold with flame sprayed aluminum (porcelain doesn't last)

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
