Sold by the Aston Workshop near Stanley in Summer 2018. Abbreviated seller's description below.

This car was imported from California and converted from LHD to RHD during the subsequent no expense spared restoration.. The restoration was completed in 2007 and the car then registered in the UK for the first time. During this restoration the tub was stripped back to bare metal for inspection. It was then treated with a chemical rust inhibitor and acid etched primed. Further primers were added, then colour coats and finally an acrylic lacquer finish. The bonnet received the same treatment after being totally disassembled, the engine frames and picture frames were replaced.

The engine and transmission were rebuilt with Petrotonix distributor, Lucas LAR, triple 2'' SU's and SS sports exhaust and fitted with 15'' SS wheels. Every nut and bolt was removed from the car, and along with the front suspension components, they were cleaned and duplex nickel-cadmium plated. All glass is new and the chrome is re-plated original. The overall condition is superb in the timeless colour combination of silver with ox red hide, this E Type is stunning.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
