You will not find another British Racing green 1969 Jaguar E type so meticulously gone through…. for this price. No way, no how. We have a file of records on the car to back all restorative service and work done on the car.
The car is a real stunner. We have had it to numerous car shows where it has always been a favourite. The colour is the most desirable hue for the car. It really spot lights the chrome bits and the gorgeous lines of the car. This Jaguar is truly a joy to drive. With Limited Slip rear differential and more power than you would expect from it’s classic straight six, it is truly a sporting sports car.
Our Jaguar benefits from having a recent head rebuild, and perfectly set up carburetors set up by a gent named Rusty that has a deep appreciation for British cars. That is pretty much the only way you will ever drive one of these that pulls smoothly throughout the entire rev range.
All electrical components are in current working order – save the Smith’s Clock – (thank you to the prince of darkness! ) With any Lucus… I mean luck… they will work correctly for all time as much time has been spent sorting out the fuse/relay box. Couldn’t resist the Lucus reference (keep in mind I own several British cars and if you can’t keep your wits about you, you really shouldn’t have the privilege of ownership at any rate.) they are reliable, I have never had problems with my British Iron or Plastic. Without the previous disclaimer I am sure I would have had a winning bidder that expected to never replace a light bulb and would look at it’s failure in 6 months time as an excuse to litigate or at least make my life hell in some fashion. In a year and half’s time this car will be aged 40, and who of us at 40 doesn’t at least have an off day. Car has functioning windscreen wipers, front and rear lights, high and main beams. Functional multi stage choke, functional radio, functional blower motor and heat, functional interior lights, etc. Yes you can drive it home at night 1000 miles away. No I wouldn’t drive it in the rain. No I haven’t driven it in the rain. Yes, I have washed the car with water. The car has been regularly detailed and compounded when necessary to keep contaminants from the paint.
The motor has been gone through, as I previously mentioned, but please, even though all seals were new about 3 years ago… don’t expect a dry garage floor in perpetuity. Right now if it sits for a month or longer there will be a drip or two from the oil pan gasket.
From stem to stern literally every aspect of this car has been breathed on. 4 years ago the interior was redone…..and now sports the appropriate patina to pass for original. The car was blessed with a full respray and dismantling. To grade the work against others I have seen/ owned it is a 8.5 to 9. Not concours , but you will certainly win regional and small county or small town car shows. There is no orange peel to be outraged about, nor are there huge amounts of putty. All body shut lines are proper with the exception of the passenger side bonnett side shut line which is a bit wider than the other a bit more metal work would have seen it matching... but with over $60,000 invested in this car it was decided to be close enough for a great driver. There are two small scratches on the car rear of the car. Neither is obvious but if you like I would be happy to supply you with pictures of any areas you have questions about. We retain extensive photographs of the preparation of the entire body. Prior to the respray, it was a very nice solid The underhood, as far as detailing is concerned was not a concern. Great looks and reliability were what this restoration was about. Further, driving the car throughout it’s 3 year restoration period was important, so body and paint, engine, transmission, interior, etc. were all done in stages to keep it on the road and not miss any of the good times. This car is a great driver and even the hood (roof, top etc.) has been replaced with a gorgeous tan cloth item. Rear window is clean and clear. Stainless and chrome bits are either tastefully original or (in the case of front and rear bumpers) are newly refinished items.
The car starts right up every time. The car idles smoothly. The car has ample power. The Cat really purrs. All gear syncros are smooth even when cold. All forward gears and reverse work properly with no noise. The tyres are in excellent shape having at least 80% of their useful life ahead of them. No you will not find another one this nice at this price or for 10k more.

'NNB 289' was built in May 1969 and dispatched some ten days later to the United States. It was delivered to its first owner, a Mr George W.Cliche of Wallington, New Jersey, USA, later that very year.
This left- hand drive manual Jaguar E-Type Series II Roadster is a delight to be seen, resplendently presented in striking British Racing Green with contrasting beige leather interior. With matching engine and chassis numbers as confirmed in its North America Heritage certificate, the speedometer is currently showing 84,332 unwarranted miles.
This car has a detailed invoice record from 2002 with a substantial amount of money being spent on it from 2002 to 2005. Benefiting from a documented and extensive restoration process that began in 2002, the rear suspension was totally rebuilt along with the brakes, mounting, front suspension shocks and springs also being replaced. The engine received new rear main oil seal replacement as well as new valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket and front and rear crank seals.
The water pump was replaced and a new thermostat installed along with a full transmission rebuild. Both electrical fans were re-worked and re-wired. From there all re-wiring in the dash was repaired, including gauge repair along with the electrical switches re-mounting, re-wiring and re-fitted. A full bear metal re-spray around this time was also carried out with a photographic record. It also had a new hood and new trim added and later has had its triple carburettor conversation back to UK / Euro spec.
The vendor informs that the car runs very well, with the engine firing instantly and immediately settling to a silent hum, the manual 'box we are advised is a pleasure to use. Upon opening the bonnet, the 4.2 litre engine is a visual delight and does not disappoint. The car presents well and is supplied with a current MoT certificate that expires on the 01/07/2015.
