This particular example was just recently released from over 30 years of single ownership where it was under meticulous care and scarcely driven. Today the Jaguar presents wonderfully all the while a mere 47,144 miles are present on the odometer; a number which is believed to reflect the total mileage accrued since new. The numbers matching 4.2 litre engine is still in place and in February 2020 was subject to a comprehensive $3000 service performed by the specialists at Leading Edge Autosport. This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster was cosmetically refreshed in 2012 and purchased by the seller in 2020. It is finished in Dark Blue over matching leather and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes a black soft top, a louvered clamshell hood, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ steel wheels, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a cassette stereo, and a heater. This XKE roadster is now offered with the owner’s manual, service records, a car cover, and a clean California title.

The car was repainted in the original Dark Blue in 2012 and the black soft top was installed in 2020. Exterior features include a driver-side mirror, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, a louvered clamshell hood, and dual exhaust outlets.

The 15″ steel wheels are mounted with 205/70 Yokohama tires. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard rear rotors. The brake master cylinder was replaced in February 2020.

The cabin was reupholstered in 2012 and features Dark Blue leather bucket seats along with a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. Interior appointments include a cassette stereo, a locking glovebox, and a heater.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as an analog clock and gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 47k miles, approximately 1,500 of which were added under current ownership.

The 4.2-liter inline-six was factory equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque when new. Service in February 2020 included replacing the battery, the fuel pump, and the distributor along with spark plugs and spark plug wires.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

The Jaguar Heritage trust certificate lists the original colors and numbers.

There is a lien on the car and the seller’s lender will need to be paid off before ownership can be transferred to the buyer.
