Ebay item 5/3/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-XKE-4-2-Convertible-/250813478037
Opening bid $42,500 reserve not met, no bids yet 5 days left in auction. 69k miles.
Sellers description:
1969 Jaguar XKE roadster with a 4.2 and is a matching numbers car. The original color was gold and was change to Red when it was restore 15 years ago. The car was purchase in Miami FL by the present non smoking owner 12 years ago and has been garage keep during this time. The car is titled and register in Florida. This car has less that 1,000 mile on it in the last 3 years.
This Jaguar is as straight as you will ever find one. The bonnet and door gaps are very good. There are no signs of prior accidents or major rust repairs. There is one area show in photo where it looks like a bracket was cut off in the trunk in front of gas tanks and one area below gas tank that show some rust. I have the trunk panel to replace this area. The paint is at least 15 years old and has been spotted here and there but still shows well for a nice driver. There is some blistering on the driver side of the bonnet around the vent, which is normal for these cars. Convertible soft top is in useable condition, does not leak, but is stained in the inside. Chrome is 8 out of 10, including the wire wheels. The right side headlight chrome has a dink in it, as showed in the picture. Engine is very strong and has excellent oil pressure. It has the 4 speed fully synchronized gearbox and shifts very good. The interior is biscuit and in excellent condition. All the gauges work except the clock. The car includes spare tire, boot cover, front carpet mats, and knock off hammer and removal tool, and jack in its bag. There are some stereo wires in the trunk left over from an amp that was removed before the present owner purchased the car.
