If there is a car that has become an "icon" it is the JAGUAR type E?!
This car has everything going for it: a racing design with a cell forming a passenger compartment and a tubular trellis supporting the mechanics and running gear, a 6-cylinder XK engine with 2 overhead camshafts, 2 large Stromberg carburettors (original US) to stuff the beast and a breathtaking line.
The convertible or roadster is the most beautiful definition with a body line without breaks, from the front bumper to that of the rear, just underlined by fine chrome moldings and softened by the curve of the fenders. Great art! Not a wrinkle 50 years later.
The type E that we offer was American in its infancy and then crossed the Atlantic in 1997. At that time it benefited from a restoration after complete and free disassembly by customs who did not know how to put everything back together...
Fortunately a professional took care of it, the result is remarkable. The follow-up since the purchase in 2000 by the current owner is justified by a solid invoice file including the hood and a tonneau cover, starter revision, spoke wheel revision, change of the rack and ball joints, transmitter and receiver clutch, radiator overhaul, axle bearing, repair of the self-locking axle, distribution chain and guides, engine pulley...
The counter initially in miles has been replaced by one graduated in kilometers.
The E-type Jaguars are among the "great classics", they always arouse interest, even passion.
Everyone recognizes the timeless beauty of this automobile, a real "collector's" car.
