Car to be at auction 7/14
www.coys.co.uk/auction.php
Auction description:
Lot 363 - 1971 Jaguar E-type Series III V12 Roadster
Estimate: £58,000 - £65,000
Registration Number: VOD256J
Chassis Number: IS20027
This particular V12 Roadster left jaguar's Coventry factory in July 1971, and was exported directly to New York City, USA. Originally delivered in British racing green, we are informed by the current vendor it was modified to silver birch metallic when he purchased the car in 1974. VOD 256J was the subject of a world class restoration by Karosserie in 1991 in the USA, and has subsequently had further works carried out in 2001. Repatriated to the UK shores in 2009, this resplendent example finished in silver birch over cinnamon hide interior comes with UK V5 documentation and a host of bills and receipts that span its three decade single ownership tenure.
With prices of early series 1 cars now reaching in excess of £150,000, the eminently more usable V12 variants offer exception value for roofdown E-type motoring.

Sold by Scuderia Sportiva Colonia of Koln in January 2021. Amended seller's description below.
www.scuderia-sportiva-colonia.de/en/cars/169-jaguar-e-type-cabriolet-s3-with-hea ...
This convertible first came to Scuderia Sportiva Colonia in 2014 and has been restored little by little over the years. The body was completely restored and painted with shaply headlamp covers from the first series E Type fitted to give a sleeker look. The interior has been retrimmed in black leather and a new MotoLita steering wheel fitted. The chassis was overhauled and the original matching numbers engine only overhauled due to its good condition with improved cooling installed. A Cosworth 5 speed gearbox which improves pulling power and overall performance was fitted. This gearbox has been used by Jaguar Racing and fitted for long distance races. New wire wheels and tyres have been fitted.
This car is the 27th Third Series car produced and was dispatched to British Leyland New York in August 1971. Originally finished in British Racing Green, it was repainted Silver in the 1980'S by which time the car was in Pennsylvannia. It passed from father to son, and the son took it with him to England in 2009. The car comes with a colour coded factory hardtop, its UK registration certificate, a Jaguar Heritage certificate and a valuation and condition report. It will be difficult to find such a noble and good looking cat on the market.
