Vehicle Description: I purchased this car in May 1999 from an individual who, along with his son, liked to restore older European cars, drive them a few years, than sell them and move on to their next project car. I first saw this vehicle at their tool and die shop where it had been stored for several years (it had a 1991 license plate on it). Being only a “turn key” kind of car enthusiast, I decided to hire Ronald Monastiere, an antique automobile appraiser with over thirty years experience, to look over the car from top to bottom. Ron’s evaluation of this car was the miles were definitely original (40,838) and he thought the car had a fair market value of $44,000. If needed, I will fax a copy of this report to anyone who asks. Since I have owned this Jaguar, I have had the following done to it: installed a Pioneer am/fm radio with CD player and four new speakers (2000), new interior carpet by Paul’s Automotive Interiors (2001), 4 new tires (2002), new battery (2003) and have had the following mechanical work done by English Motors; replaced otter switch and wires at fan relay, replaced steering rack, and rebuild upper and replaced lower ball joints. I have thoroughly enjoyed this driving this car (only on nice Michigan summer days) and have had quite a few compliments on the uniqueness of this car. This car is in overall good condition and is a perfect candidate to be tuned into a show winner.
Vehicle Condition: This car does have a slight oil leak but what I have been told by “Jag experts” this is very normal. I put in less than 1 quart of oil per driving season. The rest of the engine is in good condition but the engine compartment could use some tlc. The chrome on the car is in excellent condition, the chrome rims (with knock offs) are in good shape except for some rust spots in those hard to reach spots behind the spokes, the top/rear window are in good shape although the only time they are up is in the winter when I store the car, the interior is in nice shape. The body of the car is also in overall good shape except for some chips in the paint ( a few where the hood meets the rest of the body and some stone chips behind the tires some will need some attention) (unfortunately I drive about a mile on dirt road before pavement). Overall this vehicle is in good condition and has been very dependable, having been driven in the last couple of Woodward Dream Cruises and our local Romeo Peach Festival Parade of Classic Cars.
With zero bids so far the seller has set the starting price at US $25,000.00 (Reserve not met)

Auction ended at $32,200.00 (Reserve met) after 1 bid along with a note that the auction was ended early (in one day) using the buy it now feature. The location of the car in this auction was Palm City, Florida.
Sellers comment:
Finished in classic primrose (a pastel yellow) with beautifully leather interior and black convertible top, this incredible motorcar is equipped power steering, power disc brakes, and so much more! The car was off the road from 1991 to 1999 when it received a major refresh, which was estimated to include over 1,000 hours of labor. The car only had 40,838 miles at the time! During this period, the drive-train was rebuilt. And the power disc brakes, rear-end, front-end steering, radiator, heater core, and battery were either rebuilt or replaced. The body received a fresh quality repaint. In April 1999, this particular car was appraised at $44,000.
Today, the mileage has crept up just past 45,000 miles.
· The primrose paint is good in depth, gloss, and color.
· The chrome and stainless components are in excellent condition.
· The original interior, vinyl top, boot, and luggage compartment are in good condition although the rugs have been replaced.
· The 314 HP V12 engine drives well with an automatic transmission that shifts properly (later models had choking emissions which reduced the hp to 272 as well as mandated ugly bumperettes). The engine compartment has not been detailed; however, it is clean and has just received a proper tune-up with new plugs, cables, and ignition. It has a throaty ppuurrr that you only get from a V12 with performance exhaust! And for people that think all Jaguars of this vintage leak oil... Wrong!!! This cat's floor is dry.
· A new premium radio CD player with new speakers has replaced the original (Jimmy Buffet couldn’t sound better!).
Detractions are the chrome wire wheels (which where not original on this particular car). The exhaust system is a performance exhaust system that also was not original; however, it sounds good. In addition, there are a few paint chips where the bonnet meets and back of the front wheel wells.
The good and bad news is there is no air-conditioning. Although I drive the vehicle regularly, I only drive in the sunshine with the top down. Air-conditioning is something I have found difficult to maintain let alone work around.
Vehicle Condition
This car is very presentable, runs strong, and is super reliable. NADA puts the value between $46,100 and $33,500 as best I can tell (with the low being a "20 footer"). There seems to be a few convertible big cats listed with most of them in the high range. Perfect big cats are well beyond these figures. So, what is this motorcar worth now?
Although not perfect, it is very well received everywhere (including classic car events) and is undoubtedly better than average. Probably better than motorcars with higher reserves.
The vehicle is available for inspection prior to bidding. If you are the high bidder and unable to inspect said vehicle before auction close, you or an agent will have (5) days to inspect said vehicle. I encourage a physical inspection strongly to avoid any misunderstandings or representations.
