Description
This 1972 Jaguar E-Type Series III roadster is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car was purchased by the current owner (and seller) approximately 2 years ago and they note they have added few miles since the purchase. The car is finished in Willow green which is its original shade, over Suede Green Leather Upholstery, and features include a black soft top, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, 15” knock-off wire wheels, quadruple carburetors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an AM/FM radio.
The car is finished in Willow green and features a black soft-top, uncovered headlights, a forward-hinged louvered hood, and a power antenna. The 15″ wire-spoke wheels are secured with knock-off spinners and are mounted with Dunlop Elite Seventy thin-whitewall tires.
The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The seller notes spots around the body where minor corrosion is present. The Jaguar was reportedly repainted in its Original shade under a prior ownership.
The cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in suede green leather as well as color-coordinated door panels. Interior amenities include an AM/FM radio, wind-up windows, an ashtray, and a locking glovebox.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel is an aftermarket MOMO unit with a Jaguar horn push and frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline.
An analog clock is mounted in the center stack along with auxiliary gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 24k miles.
The 5.3-liter V12 was factory equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 241 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The seller notes that recent servicing includes fixing oil leaks.
