Current bid $20,351.00 (Reserve not met), 5 bids, 5 days left in auction. Auction is from Mendham, New Jersey. Buy it now price $39,950.
Sellers description:
1974 XKE OTS, two owner car with 24,000 original documented miles. It is turquoise, an original but rare, factory color. The car has been issued a certificate of authenticity from JCNA. In order to obtain this certificate, all numbers and the paint must match the original information on file with Jaguar. The car has it’s original biscuit leather interior with a very nice patina and the original soft top, which does have a small tear behind the driver’s window that is not serious and may be reparable (see photo). The car comes with a tonneau cover. The large (ugly) front bumpers (original to the 1974 models) were replaced by smaller ones, giving the car a much sleeker look. Pirelli P-Zero tires were installed on the car in 2003 and have very limited miles on them. The chrome wires wheels and the four speed synchromesh transmission are original standard equipment. The car has a stainless steel exhaust system and an AM/FM/CD stereo system that works well even with the top down on the highway. There is factory air conditioning that is currently not operational; but may only need to be re-charged. The car comes with a nice powder blue cover with a Jaguar logo, the original jack, and hammer. This car has always been garaged and covered.
The original owner was Max Weinberg, drummer for the E Street band and friend of Bruce Springsteen. Max Weinberg is also the band leader for Late Night with Conan O’Brien, currently on TV. Additionally, the car was featured in the film “Passionada” (currently on DVD), staring Jason Isaac and Sophia Milos. It appears in several scenes in the film driven by the star, Jason Isaacs. Check it out!
Overall condition is excellent, though it is not in concours condition. This car would benefit from a complete detailing of the paint, interior and engine compartment to bring it back to its original high standard. Over the years it has won numerous awards including a first place at the Delaware Valley JCNA concours in the “driven” class, and a first place at The British Invasion X in Stowe, VT as well as awards at various local car shows. The car has been serviced on a regular basis and has never been in an accident. There is no evidence of rust. The car has never needed any major mechanical work; the voltage regulator and master cylinder were just replaced due to a prolonged period of not being driven. The paint is all original and in good condition with a few minor scratches.
This is an XKE that always attracts positive comments and wins awards. It is a solid and very presentable driver and well worth the reasonable reserve we have set. I am selling for a friend, who is not E-bay/computer literate. His wife recently passed and the car holds many memories of their activities together.

I bought this car on E-Bay in March of 2005.
I am currently in the process of having performed a complete mechanical updating of the bushings front and back, replacement of the torsion bars,alignment,brakes,re-built gearbox, clutch and all ancillaries ,replacementof the wiring harness to name but a few of the mechanical repairs. The work is being performed by Brittanicar in Montreal,British car experts and namely by Len and Seth. The car was a low mileage vehicle (23,500 miles) that was neglected by the previous owner. The original owner was the drummer for the E Street Band (Max Weinberg)who I suspect drove the car very little in light of his high profile occupation and the jet-setting that entails.
This work ,needless to say ,cost and is costing an incredible amount of money. Not for the faint of heart nor for one who is not prepared to invest huge sums of money for the most ordinary repairs.
The pleasure is in beholding the vehicle and driving a true classic.

Hello Dave,
Thanks for your note.Yes that is the original color and about 60% of the paint is original. This is where I am in a quandary as to what to do. I've had the car evaluated for insurance coverage purposes and the evaluator rates the car a #2.If I were to respray it I would have a very close to #1 car but it would no longer be original and as a result of its low mileage and almost as new and original interior I am of the opinion some of its patina would be lost for ever for the sake of getting closer to some form of "perfection" if that really exists! Therefore I'm torn as to whether to go ahead with it or not. When I go to an antique car show today there never are any original cars, only trailered cars that owners probably never drive. They sure look good though.Cheers!

In order to obtain this certificate, all numbers and the paint must match the original information on file with Jaguar.
The car has its original tan leather interior and a new black German canvas soft top. The car comes with the original tonneau cover and the original and very rare Hard Top.
The large 1974 front and rear bumpers were replaced by the original for the 1971 & 1972 model year overriders and chrome bumpers (as all the European E-Types have until the 1974 model year).
The car has a stainless steel exhaust system. The radio is the original AM-FM British Leyland stereo radio. The factory air conditioning blows very cold. There has been alot of mechanical work performed by Brittanicar in Montreal including the wiring harness, new Opus ignition, new clutch,throw-out bearing and re-built gearbox as well all the suspension bushings front and rear as well as brand new torsion bars and rear discs, simply put anything that needed attention got it.
The car comes with a nice powder blue cover with a Jaguar logo, the original jack, and hammer as well as the original owner's manual and plastic Jaguar embossed sleeve. This car has always been garaged and covered.
The original owner was Max Weinberg, drummer for the E Street band of Bruce Springsteen fame. Max Weinberg is also the band leader for Late Night with Conan O’Brien, currently on TV. Additionally, the car was featured in the film "Passionada" (currently on DVD), starring Jason Isaacs and Sophia Milos. It appears in several scenes in the film driven by Jason Isaacs.
Overall condition is excellent, and PG Evaluation of Montreal rated it a number "two" car. A number "one" car is Concours. The paint is at least 60% original and in good condition with a few minor scratches.
This is an all original and appreciating classic with an interesting lineage. The Reserve Price is set high. An original car is worth much more than a top to bottom restoration.

It has taken me a while to understand the prospective Jaguar E-Type buyer...he/she want a $200,000 E-Type for $50,000. Well I hope your wishes come true...but on the other side be very careful of what you wish for....because unless you find a total fool who also needs the money desperately which is akin to winning a lottery...I suggest you save your hard earned $50,000 and buy lottery tickets....maybe that way you'll be better able to afford the E-Type of your dreams...my E-Type may yet be still available ...but for a much higher price. They say Jaguar E-Types are appreciating assets...seems Hagerty and NADA as well as auction houses around the world seem to agree.

Further to the above, be very wary of the bargain E-type. They are usually very neglected in terms of necessary maintenance and repairs. Leaks from the gear box, engine seal, rack and pinion leaks and power steering box leaks. The price of a well maintained E-type is never cheap. The repair bills and parts are not for the run of the mill enthusiast. You have to have the means.

Jaguar E-Type 1964 Discovered In A Dilapidated Garage
A Jaguar E-Type 1964 is a terrible thing to waste. When a family in England inherited a house with an old garage they decided to take a look around and that's where they found the classic car.
It was later purchased at auction by the Imperial War Museum at Duxford, in December 2016 for somewhere between 35-45 thousand pounds ($46,000-$60,000).

Fahrzeugbeschreibung laut Anbieter
JAGUAR E V12 Cabriolet Heritage- not restored- documented-29.108 Miles
