34,412 MILES
ON EBAY 03/07
SELLER WRITES:
This beautiful Jaguar was purchased by me in January of this year from the 86 year old widow of the original owner who was a colonel in the Air Force. He bought the car new from Roger Hannum Motors in Eugene, Oregon and it remained in Eugene until now. Due to the owner's declining health and eventual death, the car sat unused for several years. The odometer reading of 34,412 miles is correct and is verified in writing by the owner's wife and daughter. The car was driven only on nice days and was never used for daily transportation. As might be expected, recomissioning for use entailed extensive repairs. First, the gas tank was removed and boiled out. All fuel lines were cleaned, the filters and electric pump were replaced and the carburators were disassembled, cleaned, and serviced. Next, all fluids were replaced, along with belts and hoses as necessary. The hydraulic clutch mechanism was rebuilt. A new alternator was fitted, along with new thermostats and a new electrical thermostat switch for the colling fans. A new battery was installed along with a new ignition switch. A new Stayfast Canvas convertible was installed at this time. The exterior filnish is mostly original and although it looks good from a few feet away, a close inspection reveals the need for a complete respray. All instruments function properly and the power steering and power brakes work well. The 4 speed transmission shifts smoothly and easily with all syncros working properly. The smooth running V12 idles with 40 pounds of oil pressure when warm and, amazingly, does not leak any oil! As can be seen in the photos, the owner's manual, top boot, jack and original unused tool roll are included along with the original spare tire. A personal inspection is strongly encouraged and can be arranged by appointment. The reserve will not be revealed under any circumstances but is very reasonable for this fast appreciating Jaguar Roadster.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
