www.barons-auctions.com/details.php

Auction description:

First Registered 1974
Registration No SOL898M
Engine No 7S15812SA
Chassis No 1S2712
MOT March 2011
Colour Silver Metallic

Details
Offered here is a late example of the Series 3 Roadster, which has the desirable manual transmission and has been in the ownership of the one time Commandant of RAF College, Cranwell; Air Vice Marshal Bill Rimmer for some time. This gentleman acquired the car through the E-type Centre some years ago and has used it sparingly during his tenure.

The car is said to have been the subject of a full restoration back in the late eighties but is an original UK specified car. The extensive history file contains a letter from Evans Halshaw (Jaguar Main Dealer) confirming the mileage when they sold the car. There are also a number of previous MoT certificates and copies of invoices which support the indicated 51743 miles as being correct. The vendor believes this to be the case but is unable to warrant this fully.

Finished in the very desirable metallic silver with navy blue leather seats, the car sits on chrome wire wheels and has been equipped with new electronic ignition and overhauled carburettors in the recent past. The vendor describes the car as being in very good to excellent overall condition and will be driving it from Suffolk to our New Forest offices ahead of the sale.

Estimate £30,000-35000

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
