Lot 165 at Anglia Car Auctions of Kings Lynn sale of Classic Cars on 26th January 2019. Sold for £39,220 including premium. Catalogue description below.
www.angliacarauctions.co.uk/classic/results/results-from-26th-january-2019/1971- ...

Supplied new by Henlys London. This E Type was fully renovated including a colour change to period Willow Green by Elm Restorations of Huddersfield in 1985. The restoration is described as well preserved with the chrome work remaining in excellent condition. Sine this time, the car has covered approximately 15,000 miles. From around 2005, the car was, again, subject to expense in excess of £13,000 covering an engine overhaul and fuel injection conversion.

It was stored from 2006 to 2010 when acquired by the current owner who has also cared for the car well including an overhaul in 2018 costing £6,000. Currently registering six owners, it comes with current and older V5's dating back to 1997, Heritage Certificate, a file of invoices covering 1985, 2002 to 2005 and recently from 2011 to 2018, MoT's dating from 1997 to 2001 and MoT history from 2011 to 2018. Mileage recorded at 13,217.

Sold by Classic Cars of Wirral in October 2023. Abbreviated seller's description below.

www.classiccarsofwirral.co.uk/vehicle/name/jaguar-e-type-22-v12/

Here is a rather unique E Type V12 2+2, finished in Willow Green with an Olive Green interior. Original matching numbers UK car with automatic transmission and chrome wire wheels. Supplied new by Henlys London on 5 May 1971 to Mr T Bush. In 2005 the car went to marque specialists, David Marks of Nottingham where it had a complete engine overhaul to include fitting fuel injection, the conversion done regardless of cost. Detailed notes show how the unit is mounted, the wiring diagram for the same, list of all part numbers including numbers for fuel and air filters and a CD of the work carried out. The total cost of the work was £11,249.

The work was carried out at 9,608 miles and the car now shows 13,700 miles, so only around 4,000 miles ago. The car has been cared for by the previous owners substantiated by a large number of invoices and receipts including for a complete repaint and trim of the interior. This car performs well, starts first time, is smooth through the range with brakes and suspension performing as they should. The interior is superb, the paint is good but not without a few age related marks and blemishes.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
