Originally a fixed head coupe, the car was restored about ten years ago. At that time the car had only covered about 82,000 miles confirmed by MOT certificates going back to 1984. The nut and bolt restoration cost over £20,000. The car was re-bodied with an open top roadster shell. The engine was overhauled with new core plugs, new exhaust manifolds, hoses, HT leads, distributor cap, rotor arm, oil and filters. The Stromberg carburettors were rebuilt and the automatic transmission, brakes, steering and electrics were overhauled.

Lot 127 at Barons auction sale of Classic Collectors and Historic Cars at Esher on 6 February 2007, it was sold with a history file containing the invoices and photographic record of the restoration. The car appeared in the twelfth series of Midsomer Murders, appearing in 'The Glitch', the fourth episode first aired on British television on 21 July 2009.
