A 1971 Jaguar E Type Series III V12 coupe automatic, registration number BJH3K, chassis number 1S50507BW, engine number 7S4162SA, body number 4S52848. This beautifully presented original E Type has only covered a genuine 32,500 miles from new. The E Type was manufactured on 27th September 1971 and was dispatched to Henlys Limited, London on 15th October 1971. Henlys then supplied the E Type to distributing dealer Dennis Bailey and Sons Ltd, Stanborough Road, Welwyn Garden City. BJH3K was registered on 1st January 1972 to Mr Hilton James Diggins from Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. Ownership would then pass through subsequent owners Mr Malcolm Bayliss and Jonathan Peter Taylor, both from Bristol prior to our vendor acquiring the E Type approximately 18 years ago. This Jaguar has been meticulously maintained and is an all matching numbers car that still retains its original stainless steel exhaust from new.

Finished in Old English White with a beautifully original black leather interior and chrome wire wheels. The Jaguar has the original waxoyl (clear) from new that has been re-applied by our vendor. Further recent works carried out include the detailing of the back axle and engine bay, re-bushed and new SPAX shock absorbers front and rear, uprated (double) SU electric fuel pump, front bumper and grill re-chromed (2016), all four carburettor diaphragms being replaced and a full service (2017). The E Type is supplied with a comprehensive history file containing the original dealer welcome pack with Passport to Service, brochure and handbooks. The car has the original tool kit, maintenance receipts for approximately £10,000, MoT's from 1978, photographs and Heritage certificate. Having been cherished by all of its owners, currently a retired Concorde engineer, this E Type would grace any important collection. V5, V5C, MoT to April 2019 and tax exempt.

Sold by E Type UK of Hadlow in July 2021.Abbreviated seller's description below.

www.etypeuk.com/showroom/jaguar-e-type-series-3/jaguar-e-type-series-3-v12-rhd-2 ...

A Series 3 2+2 matching numbers original example with just 4 recorded owners, 33,000 original miles and finished in heritage correct Old English White. Manufactured in September 1971 it was dispatched to Henlys London a month later. The new year saw the sale of the car by authorised dealer Dennis Bailey and Sons of Hertfordshire to its first owner Mr Diggins and UK registered, which the E Type retains today. The extensive history file includes the dealer welcome pack and original British Leyland Service Passsport, with recorded servicing stamps to October 1994. The passport highlights that the car received almost no use from 1974 to 1977.

In June 1978 it passed to Mr Bayliss of Bristol, a former aircraft engineer, its longest ownership of 18 years, Mr Bayliss started a meticulous maintenance programme to ensure it was kept in perfect running order. This extensive maintenance was inherited by the next owner, Mr Taylor, another former aircraft engineer in 1996. It then passed to Mr Adams in 2001, the 4th owner, lasting 17 years. He maintained the E Type fitting all new interior trim in 2010, retreated it with waxoyl, and re-chroming the front bumpers and grill. It was also fitted with upgrades including a stainless steel exhaust, chrome wire wheels, SPAX shock absorbers and twin SU electric fuel pumps.

In 2018 the car passed to the current custodian who brought the car to E Type UK, where it has been regularly maintaind and serviced with over £10,000 spent. Today it is in brilliant condition and offers an opportunity to purchase a genuine low owner and mileage 1970s classic with an extensive and well documented history.
