Car returns to ebay 5/14/16
www.ebay.com/itm/331855479046
Classified ad asking GBP 49,991.
Sellers description:
Offered from a private collection of cars, this example is an original right-hand drive with manual gearbox, was built on the 30th December 1971, finished in Regency Red with Beige leather interior, then dispatched from the factory on the 28th January 1972 and first registered with the DVLA on 2nd February 1972. The the car was bought from Loxhams Garage, Kendall, Westmorland by a Mr. J Sinclair from Southport who registered it on a private number plate HMS 38 and who owned the car until 25th September 1987. The second owner (possibly son or brother) was a Mr. H Sinclair who also lived in Southport who owned the car for a further 8 years. Our customer took delivery on the 4th September 1995 and has had it in his possession for the last 21 years.
There is a comprehensive service history with dates and mileages from March 1972 - August 1983 documented in the service book. There is a collection of tax discs from January 1973 - February 1994. An MOT in the history file dated 24th January 2006, where the car had covered 34,148 miles. In the history file there are 3 recent invoices dated - July 2014, Feb 2015 & Nov 2015 for general maintenance such as removing wheels, clean brakes, change engine oil, fit new fuel sender, fit new spark plugs and in this period the car has covered a mere 30 miles. With an odometer reading of 34,178 miles, this original Series 3 2+2 Coup is the perfect candidate for a full paint restoration as the car, in its time, has been covered by polythene sheeting causing some micro blistering in the paintwork on some areas of the body. Once finished you'll even be able to get the kids in the back!
Supplied with a V5c and old MOT certificate, this could be your next project to while away those long Summers evenings (and probably a fair bit of the Winter!).....
