For sale at Le Riche Automobile Restorers of Trinity for £59,950. Abbreviated and amended seller's description below.
www.leriche.com/sales.php

Costing £3,846.13 when supplied new by Mann Egerton, first registered in Southend on Sea in August 1973 as NHJ141M this remarkably original and low mileage V12 coupe has covered only 12,636 miles from new. The mileage is confirmed by older MoTs covering the period 1977 to 1988 when in the UK and prior to its export to Guernsey in 1988, when the recorded mileage was less than 8,000. Over the last thirty years it has covered less than 5,000 miles in total. The mileage is verified by the sale in 2010 when the transfer document confirms the mileage at 11,500 , today the reading is 12,636 miles. In April 2012 this FHC was featured in an article in Jaguar World. This detailed the reconditioning carried out in 2010 upon acquisition by the current owner and the successful run in the E Type 50th anniversary at Silverstone in July 2011.

This Series 3 Coupe is in very original unrestored condition, the paintwork has been touched over the years resulting in slight fading in areas. The car was treated with a rust protection agent when new, which has protected the sills and floor. The body is in good overall condition and the interior in excellent original condition commensurate with the mileage. The car has been regularly maintained. New white rim tyres have recently been fitted. Documents include the original Mann Egerton bill of sale, the Jaguar World article, MoTs from 1976 to 1988, sundry invoices and the maintenance history. A car with low ownership and low mileage confirmed by the excellent original condition of the interior.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
