Ebay item 8/2/13 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971-Jaguar-E-Type-XKE-V12-5-3L-/231026594741
Car has a buy it now price of $28,500 for 6 days.
Sellers description:
For sale is this beautiful Series III E-Type V12 2+2 Coupe. This survivor is in great overall condition, and has been in the same family since purchased new in California, and is ready to serve another family for an additional 40+ years. Enjoy the beautiful sound of the V12 commanded by the desirable 4 speed manual transmission, which are all in great working order. The original motor runs great and starts and revs without hesitation. This E-Type has been resprayed several years back in the original Burgundy color, and the front seats have been professionally recovered. The paint is a 7.5 to 8 out of 10, with misc road wear and chips from loving use. Some rubber needs to be replaced. Original owner's handbook, repair books, original brochure and many other original period-documents are included in the sale. The car has always been garaged and covered, and the owner is forced to sell due to moving. She sits in our warehouse waiting for the next owner.
The vehicle is now owned by the original owner's granddaughter. Here is what she has to say about it:
"I have had the pleasure of owning my grandfather's Jaguar XKE for the past year. He had purchased the car new in 1971 and has been in love with it his whole life. I still have pictures of my grandfather, wearing his driving gloves during his Sunday drives. He kept every service record and registration tag, and treated the car like his own child. When he passed in 1995, it was handed down to my aunt. She and my mother enjoyed it for several years, taking trips up the coast and sharing old memories of their father when they were together. Eventually, the car made it into my hands. I enjoyed reliving the memories and hearing the stories and history that came along with it. As much as I love the car and get complimented on it every time I take her out, I am not able to give it the proper care and storage that is deserved. I would love so see the car passed on to someone that has the same passion for Jaguars as my grandfather did."
This is a great opportunity to own a beautiful 4 speed V12 Coupe that drives as beautifully as she looks. Drive her as she sits with pride, or start your full restoration. Please enjoy the photos, and note the full history of registration tags and service records going back to the early 70s!

This 1971 Jaguar E-Type Series III 2+2 is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a four-speed manual transmission and is equipped with a limited-slip differential, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, a quartet of Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, and 15” knock-off wire wheels. Acquired by the current owner circa 2015, the car had previously been refinished in Regency Red, and its beige interior features reupholstered front bucket seats, Smiths instrumentation, and a Motorola push-button AM/FM radio. This E-type is now offered by the seller on behalf of its owner with an operating handbook and a clean California title in the owner’s name.
The body left the factory finished in Regency Red and was repainted under previous ownership. Exterior features include uncovered headlights, a louvered clamshell hood, wraparound bumpers with guards, a driver-side mirror, pop-out rear quarter windows, and quad center-exit exhaust outlets with chrome tips. The rear hatch window weather seal was replaced in December 2024, and the seller notes the presence of dry rot in the windshield seal. An area of rust is noted behind the left rear wheel, and exterior blemishes are visible.
Chrome 15″ wire wheels are secured with earless knock-off nuts and mounted with older 205/70 Pirelli P4000 Super Touring tires. The Series III E-Type was equipped from the factory with power steering, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The 2+2 cabin features front bucket seats that have been reupholstered in beige leather that is complemented by color-coordinated door panels and carpeting. A push-button Motorola AM/FM radio is installed ahead of the shifter, and other appointments include a padded center armrest, wind-up windows, a locking glovebox, a passenger grab handle, retractable front shoulder belts, and rear lap belts. Tears in the black vinyl dash pad and worn leather on the rear bench seat are visible.
The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and a matching tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, while the center stack houses an analog clock along with gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 72k miles.
The 5.3-liter V12 is equipped with a quartet of Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 314 horsepower and 349 lb-ft of torque when new. The camshaft covers were resealed in 2017, and the most recent oil service occurred in December 2024.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust research guide suggests that this car was the 22nd Series III left-hand-drive 2+2 built.
